“Poor Fish”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 1, 2014

By the sea but cod from the Beach House was either badly cooked or poor quality fish. Generally the food at the Napoleon is very enjoyable but would suggest they find a new fishmonger.

“Lovely food and friendly staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 31, 2013 via mobile

Well worth the 10-15 minute walk from the harbour up the hill to the Napoleon for dinner!
The food was fantastic and the atmosphere friendly. The pub also seems to have made an impression on our dog who doesn't like walking past the Napoleon anymore, he tries his best to pull us in!

“Small and beautiful”

A great very traditional pub, with a good range of food, all dishes we had were very good. Where it really stars is atmosphere, very convivial and friendly.

“Brilliant Pub”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 25, 2013

We ended up visiting the Napoleon 3 times for evening meals and on all three occasions we were not disappointed. The quality and presentation of the meals is excellent and a pint (or two) of Tribute is really good.
Prices are perhaps a touch higher than some other pubs but it is well worth paying the extra.

“Fantastic Cornish Pub!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed November 20, 2013

This is one of the best 'proper-pubs' in the area which draws in locals and holiday makers alike (good!) The food is excellent and the staff are always pleasant and freindly. Prices have gone up a bit recently, but this hopefully just reflects the state of the economy at the moment so fair-doo's. The beer is great and the atmospeher of the pub is how it should be - no plastic make-up yourself pub accesories here - thank goodness! In the spirit of providing an objective review, my only (tiny) negative comments would be that the beer garden needs a bit of TLC and that the lighting on a cold winter evening is a bit too bright and stark - tealights on the tables might be nice (?) with the lights turrned down a bit....All in all a great pub though.
