Description: If you want high quality Pub Grub...Great portion size and value for money then this is the place to go. We have tables in the bar areas and outside and a family room with books and pictures to colour for the kids. We have a restaurant area where service is by waitress and the menu is as the down stairs but the ambiance differs from the bar areas for those wanting the quality of our food with that extra special service. We have live music on Saturday nights therefore all tables are removed from the main bar area leaving seating in the bottom bar and family area. This is always a busy night so booking for a meal is always necessary. The music starts at 9.30Pm till 12.30Ish and can be view on our web page. We also have many events which are well worth a visit always with great entertainment and always for a deserving cause.

A great pub to visit when in Boscastle with fine ales and a hot log fire. Unfortunately the food was rather average - somewhat fatty - although the portions served were large. My sister also visited separately and was not impressed with the food. I would advise having a drink here but dining at the nearby Riverside.

Friendly welcome, loads of character, excellent well kept guest ales. Seperate bar for those without kids and in the dining room there's plenty of pens and books to keep kids happy if you bring them. Food is good pub grub, its no Michelin restaurant, fish and chips were excellent. All served in a non-fussy friendly manner.

Will be going there again next time we are in Boscastle.

This is a good pub, with some interesting "guest" beers. Food is served, but be aware of the following as our experience:-

1. It appears that if you make a reservation, and someone else is sitting at the table, then the reservation seems to be "optional" from the establishment point of view. We took the time to book a table, but never did get that table, so we had our dinner sharing a table with others - unforgivable.

2. Food was average for a pub. Lamb shanks were "OK", the trifle was not good. Fish and chips was excellent.

We would not return to eat - there are other well regarded places in Boscastle.

A pub full of locals creates a wonderfully charming atmosphere. Pub grub was pretty standard but the service from friendly staff was very good. Worth it if you like an olde worlde feel.
