Reviewed October 25, 2012

We booked into the riverside restaurant as a couple and found it very cosy with a nice feel about it.The service was very good and friendly attentive staff always at your beck and call.Agood selection of foods and an excellent vegetarian choice. It was all cooked to perfection and a very enjoyable evening and value for money. The location is terrific in the village centre by the river with that lovely sound of gushing water.Superb.

“Still producing good meals”
Reviewed October 22, 2012

We have been using the Riverside for many years on our annual visit and the quality has remained consistent with only small issues now and again. In October and out of half term it is relaxed although I suspect it gets much busier then. Recommended if you want a change from pub grub.

“Enjoyed dinner and breakfast”
Reviewed October 21, 2012

Lovely location (particularly if you visit in the summer when outside seats on the riverbanks are available). We ate inside in the lovely old building. Really friendly service and we made to feel very welcome. We both had fish dishes which were well-executed and tasted very fresh, as you'd expect right next to a working fishing harbour. Good choice of well-priced, decent wines.

On another day we visited for breakfast which was excellent. There was loads of choice from the super healthy to the more indulgent, all served up with a smile and riverside views. Decent coffee too.

“Very good food”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

We ate here just the once during our Boscastle stay. I had a sea food salad which was very nice and my wife had the lamb shank, but this was slightly burnt which meant she had to leave 20% of the meat. The sweet which followed was excellent so made up (a little) for the disappointment of the lamb shank.

“Couldn't wait to get us out”
Reviewed October 11, 2012

A very disappointing meal. We booked our table for 8.30pm. The table I'd been told we were being given (a nice romantic one in the corner) was taken by others and we ended up with the draughty one by the door. We ordered our Starter and Main Course and asked for a 15 minute break between courses. "You can't - the kitchen closes at 9." was the response. The food was distinctly average and overpriced. We got the break between courses we asked for, however the food had clearly been kept warm and had dried out! We went to the Cobweb Inn the night after, had good value food that was served with a smile and was very tastey!
Judging by comments from other tables, the experiences for them were not to good either.
