“Authentic Sri Lankan (Tamil) Cuisine in Wembly :)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 24, 2012

This was my 3rd time at Palm Beach restaurant, but unlike my earlier visits this was more formal as I had dinner with one of my best-mate's family. As usual, the place was packed as it was a Saturday night and had to wait for 5 mins (which is OK compared to some other Sri Lankan restaurants, especially on a Saturday night :) ). Place was nicely decorated, tidy and with full of Sri Lankan people ( of course there were some beautiful girls too ;) ). Having grown up in Sri Lanka and loving the traditional food, I choose mutton kotthu rotti and fried nethali (anchovy) which was absolutely authentic. We also had some devilled chicken as a started. They also have alcohols. All in all, very good place to have formal dining / parties / gatherings. Loved it :)

“Good food, but bad service”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 24, 2012

I been going to palm beach restaurant for a long time now. They serve the finest srilankan food. Many occasions we found the food very good, this is one of the reason why we are regulars. As always one think Palm Beach lacks is the service. My family was annoyed as the staff were more concerned about the cricket match on tv rather than the customers.

Would continue to go there, but if they sort out the service, I am sure they would do well.

“Not quite a Tropical Paradise but above average”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 23, 2012

For the English palate this is not what we have become used to as Indian food. This is a Sri Lankan restaurant that serves South Indian food and having travelled to Sri Lanka many times this is a good representation of what you would find there in both décor and food. When I had a business lunch with a Sri Lankan (Tamil) colleague I chose dishes that I recognised and he chose dishes that were traditional and were a good combination.

The service was fast and efficient and the large screen TV was showing Indian videos of Tamil hit songs, all different but all the same. Boy meets Girl falls in love sing and dance la la la.

What you see is what you get and it is a bright modern restaurant perhaps lacking in character as the name Palm Beach is misleading in that regard but there is a huge fish tank with some very large fish built into one wall which gives it that tropical feel.

The restaurant caters for the local South Indian community so the food is representative of their tastes and in the main the food is quite spicy. Overall good value

“Good curry and friendly service”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 29, 2012

I was looking for a decent curry near the Wembley Ibis Hotel and found this place just off the High Street. It filled-up over the evening and was popular with families. The rabbit curry was delicious, but be prepared to pick out the bones! The Champions League semi final was also being shown on several large-screen TVs, which helped this solitary traveller to pass the time!
