The inn was very clean and beautifully decorated, but it ended there. Our room was upstairs next to the kitchen and dining area while the other rooms were downstairs. This afforded us no privacy and our room was right in the middle of a noisy floor, included loud vacuuming Friday morning (which we felt was inconsiderate) and unusually loud talking and laughing during morning breakfasts when we wanted to sleep in. (It was Valentine's day weekend, so my partner and I wanted more quiet time. We thought we would get that at a B and B.) The breakfasts were delicious but if you came late to the table, it was not appreciated. Then, we also were met with the owner's rigid remarks that the kitchen was off limits, (even though it was right next to our room), while we were sitting quietly making some oatmeal. Yet the owner cooked constantly there and all you could do is smell all the great food. Basically, he didn't make us feel comfortable, sorry to say. You also couldn't eat in the rooms. All in all, too many rules, not enough hospitality. We felt like we were trespassing, rather than like welcomed guests. The only positive experience we had was that the owner made reservations for us to eat at an Amish family's house for dinner, which was the best part of the trip.
