Great location. Hotel has been updated and In a very good location. The restaurant was excellent. Please try the fried chicken. It was very good. I would highly recommend this hotel. It is within walking distance to a lot of shops and other restaurants.

I found this hotel online and thought it looked nice. My husband, children and I have stayed many times in Lancaster and thought we would try this hotel. When we arrived, I thought it looked nice. The outside of the hotel is beautiful. My daughter loves to swim and was looking forward to this. The indoor pool is, indeed, indoor; however, you have to walk across the walkway from the office to another building to swim which we found inconvenient. We did use the pool, but it was definitely chilly walking from the pool house to the hotel in April when the temperature is in the 30s.

The next morning we attempted to go for breakfast (The Old Mill Restaurant is attached to the hotel). This is a public restaurant and so, of course, it is a "first come, first served" policy. When we walked to the hallway to enter the restaurant, there were quite a few people standing there waiting. My husband went to check on being seated and found out there would be a 20-25 minute wait for breakfast. We were told they would call our room when our table was ready. Really?? I have never had to wait for a continental breakfast, which by the way you can only choose two from a small selection of bagels, toast, eggs, fruit cup, etc. and only two choices from the drink menu as well. If you want more than two of the selections, you pay full price for them which I think is ridiculous. Option 2 is to order from the menu and get 30% from your bill, but it cannot be combined with Option 1. We have two children, ages 3 and 7, so this was not very convenient. Long story short, they did call our room to let us know that our table was ready. I would highly recommend that they reserve a certain section/a select amount of tables, etc. so their guests at the hotel do not have a wait.

On a positive note, the decorations were beautiful! The hotel was very clean. I do not think we will stay here again in the future, though.

When we checked out, the lady asked us how our stay was. When I proceeded to tell her about it and give some constructive criticism, she defended the restaurant saying how they "wait on you", etc. and she thinks it's nice. That is nice, but not for a continental breakfast. Plus, don't ask how our stay was if you don't truly want to hear what we have to say.

Dear mhzech,

Thank you so much for you well written, and thoughtful response. We appreciate you taking the time to share your experience with the Trip Advisor community!

I want to start by apologizing, both for the service that you received at check out, and for your experience at the restaurant.

We train our staff to ask for input at check out, but they certainly should not have brushed off or been unconcerned with your feedback. Guest feedback is our greatest resource in terms of identifying areas in which we can improve. We have already identified the staff member and used your feedback as an opportunity to coach the team member and correct the issue. Service is something that we take very seriously and your concerns should have been met with understanding and conveyed to our restaurant staff so that we can take steps to improve.

In regard to your experience at breakfast, again, I am very sorry that we were not able to meet your expectation. We are trying to identify ways in which we can better serve our guests while also meeting the demands of our local clientele. It is wonderful that the Olde Mill has grown in popularity and that business continues to increase, but we do recognize that it can be a challenge over the weekend when we are both busy in the restaurant and the hotel. We are going to be doing our best to better inform our guests of times where we see the highest volume and longest waits in the restaurant, but we will also be working on ways to speed up the service and improve the experience for our guests.

Again, thank you very much for your feed back. It is greatly appreciated. It is people like you, who are willing to let us know where we can improve, that help us to identify the areas and let us take steps to providing a better experience for all of our guests.

we've stayed at my different hotels in the Lancaster area and I have to say that all the Best Westerns are our favorites. The Intercourse property is within walking distance from a lot of shops. The restaurant was wonderful and the room was cozy. Well worth the stay.

This lovely Inn in the heart of Amish country has been renovated and expanded to an even more beautiful property. There's also a new indoor pool which is opened every day. We have stayed here many, many times over the past 15 plus years, and have never been disappointed. The rooms are roomy, comfortable and spotless. The staff is friendly, courteous and attentive. I have recommended Best Western Intercourse Village Inn to my family and friends, and they love it as well. The Restaurant has a wide selection of delicious down-home food. I highly recommend this Inn to everyone.

Room Tip: Having been in several different rooms, I think any one would be perfect. The suites are outstandin...

We booked the 2 room suite with two queen beds and a sofa bed. The facility has recently been renovated / renewed and provides a very comfortable visit. The room was large with plenty of room, with free WiFi provided.

The overall decor provides a very warm and friendly welcoming, it sits well in the overall feel of Amish Country.

There is a restaurant attached to the Inn which provides good county meals, they are large in size and basic in preparation and content. Another point to note is the restaurant closes at 8 PM, so you will need to be early.

The only issue I had, and recommendation I would make, is the Inn does not serve alcohol and the area has restrictions on the sale of alcohol, you can only buy a case of beer, not a six pack. If you would like to have cleansing ale to settle in for the night, or a wine, you need to pre buy and bring your own.

The location provides an excellent location to explore the local countryside, I would definitely recommend this accommodation facility.

Dear John_W97,

Thank you very much for taking the time to provide the Trip Advisor community with such great information from your stay. We really appreciate the feedback, and your willingness to share your experience!

I am happy to hear that you enjoyed both the layout and decor here on our property! There was a great deal of time and effort put into designing the expansion and renovation. We feel very strongly that we have stayed true to the area, while providing clean, comfortable accommodations, both in the rooms and the common areas of the hotel.

I do understand your concerns about the lack of alcohol sales in the area. Given that we are an Amish tourism destination, and that the area follows very strongly in those beliefs, it is a dry community around our hotel. However, there is a winery and brewery just about a 5 minute ride down the road that has outstanding local spirits that our guests often bring back to the hotel to enjoy!

Thank you again for your thoughtful review, and we look forward to seeing you again when you return!

I've stayed at this Inn many, many times before, and was completely pleased. Now it is completely renovated, and magnificent. It still has the warm and friendly staff. Plus, the restaurant has the best food in town. I will be back again and again.

From the moment we arrived we were impressed with this hotel. The staff were wonderful and the lobby has been decorated beautifully. One of the best things as well is how quiet the rooms are. There is a restaurant attached which also is very good.

The only drawback is the pool is a bit small and you have to go across the parking lot (a very short distance) to reach it as it is not attached to the hotel.

This was a great stay and we look forward to returning and trying other Best Western properties in hopes that they are as well maintained as this one.
