The last weekend of March I stayed at the Best Western Plus Intercourse Village. I have stayed at this property many times and have often had breakfast at this restaurant. After a restful night sleep I proceeded to the restaurant for breakfast. It was quite a transformation from my previous visits. It is about double the size of the previous restaurant and now has an old mill theme. The restaurant was the location of a steam powered mill around the turn of the century so the owner decided to honor that memory with the new theme. It works! The host was the owners tween son. This is really a family operation, a welcome step back in time. Our server was an actual Amish woman who was happy to share here experiences of working at the property and some insights of Amish life. Her name tag proudly proclaimed that she has worked there for 14 years!

All guests receive 40 percent off breakfast. I chose the farmers breakfast which consisted of two eggs, scrapple, home made hash browns, unlimited coffee and coffee cake. The price of all that with the discount was 4 bucks! When I asked for extra cream the Amish server joked and asked if I wanted a few more creamers or she wanted me to bring the car in from out back. I thought that quite funny.

The eggs were cooked to perfection. I have no idea how they get the scrapple so crunchy while still being flavorful but I yet to duplicate the preparation. The server was pleasant without being intrusive and informative about the menu. It was quite a pleasant experience at a wonderful price.

Whether you are staying at the hotel property or not I highly recommend eating at this restaurant for an authentic Lancaster County experience. Don't miss it for Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner. One warning. Like a lot of attractions in Lancaster County the restaurant is closed on Sunday.

3/21/13 I have eaten here before the remodeling and is now the Olde Mill Restaurant. It used to be a hangout for locals. The food is still good and each day they have a different special (1) more reasonably priced. This is a good place for tourist as it has a very colorful history. The Witness (movie) was partly filmed beside it and around the area. The prices are now more in line with other tourist places. More of a $10 breakfast place now. There are many more inexpensive places for the locals now. Then again if you are in Intercourse there aren't a lot of restaurants right in town if you are walking around.. Parking is still a problem if you are just stopping in.

We are always appreciative of guests who take the time to offer feedback after dining with us. We trust you enjoyed the newly renovated restaurant with all the special touches that create an early 1900's feel. Our main goal continues to provide local guests as well as out of town guests with a great experience as they enjoy home cooked food and a friendly staff. We added a few new items to our menu, but we are pleased to say that the prices have stayed the same. Guests that visit the restaurant on a regular basis enjoy the numerous daily specials that are available at prices you won't find anywhere else. Thank you again for visiting and we look forward to your visit again sometime soon.

It truly puts a smile on our face when we read the positive reviews from so many people who have dined with us here at the Olde Mill Restaurant! The staff is very committed to making sure guests have a fantastic experience with us. Much thought and planning has been, and continues to be, put into the decor of the restaurant, the quality of food, the efficiency and friendliness of the staff and the prices being as fair as we can possibly offer. While we are not perfect, we do work hard at perfecting each area of focus. Thank you for dining with us and for taking the time to share such a positive response!

Used to be the Intercourse Village Best Western Restaurant. with a major makeover going back to the old mill days that once stood here. Plenty of seating , open area to come in and enjoy once again a home cooked good meal. Nothing fancy just good eats. May be the best breakfast for the price in Lancaster. Nice menue, good coffee and home made coffe cake that you can not get anywhere. Don't let me build you up. If you are a diner person, you will enjoy the Mill. The staff ( some wonderful amish ladies ) do everything possible to make your dinning a pleasure. Serving breakfast , lunch and diner. Dry no alcohol but may serve a nice glass of rootbeer during the day. Stop in if you are in the area. Great specials all week.
Open 6 days a week. Closed Sundays on God's day to give thanks to the Lord. Plenty of parking and smiles. Nice family resturant next to the Intercourse Best Western Hotel. May see some local amish and if you have children ask for a window seat to see some horse and buggies in town. Make sure you leave a big tip for the help.

We are glad you had the opportunity to visit with us and enjoy a meal at the Olde Mill Restaurant. You are right when you say that our coffee cake can't be found anywhere else. It's a secret recipe! You are also correct in your observations that our staff is dedicated to making each guest's dining experience a positive one. We are committed to being the very best we can possibly be in every area. With our beautifully renovated and expanded dining room, homemade food and exceptional staff, we would certainly not fit the description of a diner, but rather a family restaurant that strives for excellence in every area. Thanks again for visiting with us and we trust we will have the opportunity to serve you again soon!

Thank you for taking the time to share your thoughts with us. We are sorry you did not have a more positive experience at the Olde Mill Restaurant because that is our ultimate goal for every guest. We do apologize for your long wait while you ordered breakfast. On the day you came into the restaurant we had only been open for 3 days and we tried to communicate to guests that we were still working through glitches. This is why we offered complimentary hot drinks the first couple days. We find our prices to be very competitive especially with the specials where guests enjoy breakfast for about $5.00. Our new facilities, delicious food, friendly staff and fair prices are the reasons so many locals and out of town guests continue to patronize our restaurant. We are sorry that you do not feel the same. In the future, if you are ever disappointed with your experience, please make mention of it to the hostess and we will do everything we can to turn your frown upside down!
