“Walk amongst the locals.....”

A must stop if you are passing thru Lancaster County. Quaint shops and you can even take a Buggy Ride. One thing that should be mentioned is that this entire village is closed on Sundays. So...plan accordingly.

“A fun and simple way to spend time”
Reviewed May 25, 2014

If you are in Lancaster County, make it a point to stop here. It is a wonderful way to spend an afternoon or to fill in a few hours before or after attending a local attraction. It is basically an open-area of small mom and pop stores that are locally owned, some by Amish. You can get the best of what the area has top offer....crafts, quilts, jewelry, breads, butters, jams, etc. There are some food places as well; however, my suggestion would be to stop at one of the local smorgasbords for food and keep this place for shopping. There is a great popcorn and ice cream place that can help someone fill in the craving for comfort food. :-)
You can even take an Amish buggy tour from here. ( I did not do so because we took one from Abe's which is heading back west on the main road).
The people are pleasant and it is simply a peaceful and delightful way to spend an afternoon.

“Great jams and pickles”
Reviewed May 24, 2014

What's not to like, ok it's a tourist trap but what do you expect!! Its well laid out, there is loads to do, the Amish horse ride was great and the food is great. The jam and pickle shop is divine, just don't eat before you get there as there are so many samples. The Amish side is fascinating and the scenery is great.

“Great scenery”
Reviewed May 21, 2014 via mobile

Its a gem of a place to see some great scenery. You can see miles of green pastures, horse drawn carriages and Get a glimpse of the Amish lifestyle. Went on the 35 min AAA buggy ride which was a unique experience. Do not go on the longer 55min ride because it becomes boring after some time. You can easily drive along the same route in your own vehicle. Plenty of free samples in all the restaurants. Overall a good experience
