Thank you for celebrating your anniversary with us. One nite away just does not seem enough. There are so many things to see and do in Lancaster County, and of course it's always nice to enjoy the room and relax. We're so glad you enjoyed your stay and look forward to your next visit when you can extend your stay.

While the Inn and Spa at Intercourse Village calls itself "one of the most romantic inns in America", it is situated directly on the main street of intercourse, directly across the street from one of the most touristic places in town - The Kitchen Kettle Village. In my opinion, the rooms are not worth the price, and while we had booked the weekend as a romantic getaway, and called the hotel a number of times to ask different questions about the room, we were given a room without a bath, because apparently if we really wanted a bath tub in the room, we should have paid extra during the reservation process to guarantee that. That little detail is NOT clear on the website, and we were VERY frustrated that we did not have a room with a bath, since the pictures on the website and in the brochure of the "Homestead Suites" show ONLY the tub, not the shower, and only mention that you can relax in one or the other, but don't tell you to pay extra if you really really want a bath. After expressing our great dissatisfaction, the girl that checked us in called back and forth to the innkeeper to try and find a solution. I asked if we could check out the following night without a penalty and was offered a gift certificate for a two night stay, after november, Sun through Thursday if I was checking out immediately, Even though they offered to make it transferable, I would not go back and that did not really satisfy my expectations. I asked for a 10 or 20 % discount, but the young girl that was checking us in said she had no authority to do that and apparently didn't want to propose that to the innkeeper or let us speak with her. If you do decide to go, make sure you also ask what time you are assigned breakfast.... we were lucky that we got the first seating at 8:30 (prompt!!!) because I would have passed out if I had to wait until 10:30. Again, in spite of numerous phone calls and reviews of the website, I had no idea there were strict rules about breakfast dining times, we were never given a choice, but I guess we were lucky that we got 8:30.

The Inn & Spa was awarded one of the "Top Ten Romantic Inns" award by I Love Inns Asscoiation; you must have noticed our award on our web site. Many of our guests enjoy
staying at a location where they can walk to so many quaint shoppes in the village, such as the places you mentioned. I do understand where you may have felt that the village was crowded and bustling, as you chose to stay with us on one of the busiest holiday weekends of the year.

Our second floor country homestead suites offer a steam shower in the ensuite bath and our first floor suites offer a tub and standard shower combination. We do apologize if this was in any way unclear to you. However, you were given the exact suite that you booked over the internet.

As far as breakfast, we do offer a variety of options to our guests, we are glad your were pleased with your scheduled breakfast time; however, if that time had not suited your schedule we could have offered you a later time, room service or a voucher to a local restaurant that serves breakfast all day.

Now that we know how to best accommodate your specific needs we would welcome you to come back to enjoy a truly relaxing getaway.

I stayed at theSpa for a 3 day R&R getaway. I took my two daughters (both in their early 20's). We all loved it! We stayed in the hay-barn. The rooms were exceptionally clean and very nicely decorated. The 5 course breakfast was delicious and the Victorian decor was beautiful. We also booked spa services. I have had spa services at many different locations and I can honestly say that these were the best I have ever had. The staff at the The Inn & Spa at Intercourse Village was exceptional. They were all very friendly and accommodating, and the grounds are beautiful. The Inn is located just walking distance from a very nice shopping area, and only minutes from great outlet shopping in Lancaster. I would very highly recommend this location to anyone wanting a great getaway!

In addition to being a romantic getaway for couples, more and more friends and relatives are discovering the pleasure of a girls getaway, taking advantage of our spa services and great location for shopping.

Thank you so much for your review and gracious comments. We have heard similar stories from many guests utilizing our on site spa, that the services they received were the best they experienced.

Think of us the next time you need a little "me" time.

This was our first experience with a B&B. We were a little apprehensive, but all our fears were dissolved once we entered The Inn. The Innkeepers and all employees were wonderful and we have actually missed them upon returning home. We will definitely return to visit.

From the moment we laid eyes on the beautiful building we were excited. When we were greeted at the door we felt like we were arriving home. A sincere and heartfelt greeting from Marsha made us feel as if we had been missed although we have never stayed there.
The interior has maintained the charm of the era. A very clean and neat room with a very comfortable bed that gave us a great night sleep. The gourment breakfast in the morning was prepared & presented by a chef who took the time to tell us a little bit about it. The staff is full of smiles and warmth and it was a wonderful experience!!!

My husband and I have stayed several times at the Inn & Spa at Intercourse Village and it is always a delightfully romantic getaway! We have never been disappointed! We have chosen to stay in a different room each time, and every room has been well decorated and quite lovely. However, if I had to choose a favorite, so far I'd have to say the Summer House Suite... but we still have others that we're looking forward to checking out!

The rooms... the food... the staff... all have been consistent each and every time we've visited. The rooms are always meticulously clean. Breakfast has been absolutely delicious, with several wonderful courses... as well as beverages and snacks throughout our stay. We have met a lot of interesting people over breakfast. The staff has been wonderful! They have been most helpful and have gone out of their way to make our time at the Inn pleasant and enjoyable.

Whether strolling the grounds with the music playing softly in the background, sitting on the front porch or in the gazebo, relaxing in front of the fire or unwinding in the jacuzzi... it's great to be here! This place is absolutely wonderful... and the surrounding area has plenty to offer. We always look forward to our next visit to the Inn!

Our Summer House Suite with the heart shaped Jacuzzi, located in the bedroom is a favorite of many of our guests.

Whether enjoying the antiques and quaintness of a Victorian room, the simple charm, practicality and spaciousness of a country homestead suite or the romantic atmosphere of a grand suite with a two-person Jacuzzi; there is something to meet everyones tastes and needs.

We are so glad you choose to stay with us again and again...as you know guests never tire of being pampered at the Inn while staying in one of Pennsylvania's most unique locations.

Guests enjoy watching the Amish buggies clop along the street and learn more about the Amish culture during the day, shop until they drop in the afternoon, (walk to over 50 shoppes) head to the spa to relieve the muscle tension of carrying all those packages, and then out to town at night for a lovely dinner, musical or theatrical production.

Everyone wishes they had a little more time here at the Inn & Spa. We appreciate your kind comments and look forward to your return as well.

I wanted to do something special for my husband for his birthday so I decided we should go to a quiet place for two. I was familiar with the Inn and decided to get one of their suites. We stayed in the Harness Shed Suite - one of the Grand Suites. It was everything I thought it would be.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by one of the young inn-keepers, who was friendly and welcoming. We were told about the Inn, where everything was, and how we could help ourselves to items in the refrigerator, snacks, or to the movies later that night. We were told about our breakfast accommodations and what time breakfast was. We were then shown our room.

Because they knew it was for my husband's birthday, they had a small bouquet of flowers wishing him happy birthday on the table of the sitting room and a bottle of non-alcoholic champagne on the counter.

The room was extremely comfortable, spacious, and decorated with a rustic theme. When you walked up the stairs you entered the sitting room - a small couch just perfect for two, a fireplace, a television and a small kitchenette/wet bar. The shower was down a short hall as was the jacuzzi for two with a king sized bed in its own space to the right and another television.

We came to get a way from it all, spend some romantic time together and pamper ourselves and that is exactly what we accomplished. No interruptions, no noisy hallways of hotels, just perfect quiet, romantic bliss where you can forget the world outside and enjoy one another's company.

Breakfast the next morning was cozy and friendly. We met several couples that we chatted with over breakfast. Everyone shared about how much they liked their rooms and the quaintness of the Inn including hearing the buggies going by (not something you get in the city). We were served a warm five courses. Each course was described by the Inn chef. The baked grapefruit was exceptional. The food was more than satisfying and tasty. It was more than I could eat, but my husband was glad to help me out.

During the day, we walked out back to the Wedding Garden and sat for awhile. It is a beautiful spot to sit, take in the quietness of the area, the beauty of the gazebo and fountain and just relax. We spent the day shopping and had dinner in Lancaster. However with the exception of getting food, there was really no reason to leave the room. Then another quiet cozy evening in front of the fireplace watching a movie and talking. The jacuzzi was so relaxing just soaking the stress away. And the bed - we slept like babies. With a bad back - a comfortable bed goes a long way. No back aches when I awoke the next morning. Life doesn't get any better.

We would love to go back. I recommend it to friends and couples frequently. It is the perfect place to get away from it all and spend time with your spouse.

It is good to hear that everything met or exceeded your expectations.

It is our goal to have every guest have a relaxing, romantic getaway from the beginning to the end.

Soaking in a Jacuzzi, sleeping on a comfortable bed, relaxing in the gazebo located in the wedding garden, is just the cure for stress we put on our bodies and minds.

Be sure to not wait too long between visits, it was good to get to know you both.
