Description: A Cena restaurant is located just over the Richmond Bridge in East Twickenham. A fantastic local italian restaurant set in a warm, friendly, elegant but relaxed atmosphere with a menu that constantly changes to suit the changing seasons and ensuring only the freshest and best ingredients go into our dishes. The wine list is superb ranging from small, modest Italian Vineyards to some of the great names and vintages. A Cena means "at dinner" and is pronounced "Ah Chenna"

I went into a cena just before christmas with my family (three kids ~9, 7 and 6 months). We had a really great lunch. We arrived a little late for lunch on the spur of the moment but the staff couldnt have been more attentive and pleasant. So i am confused by the surly comments others have made. Many restaurants look at you like you are lepers if you arrive with children and they are not a branded family haven but we found a cena to be very welcoming. Unlike max mara across the bridge who really almost chased us out of the shop. The food was first class : my kids had half portions of main menu dishes and loved them. I had plaice in a creamy sauce that sounds dull but was in fact delicious. My wife who is french and can teach most people a thing or two about surly also had a really fantastic lamb main course. The chef came out to see how people were doing and that was a nice touch. We will be back. Unlike to max mara's emporium.

We had a very nice meal although a bit expensive. The portions for mains were a bit large for haute cuisine. The service was slow and paid little attention to the fact that they didn't give us a wine list nor that we hadn't ordered for over thirty minutes. Although it was on our top list it has declined in our rating for one of our locals

Dand I arrived 7.30. Negotiated a good table rather than in the window. Plenty of staff. Took pre dinner drinks order quickly. Soup tonight was Savoy cabbage excellent. D had tuna and I had place again both excellent. Nice pannacotta and crepes to finish. D had 2 glasses of Bardolino red. We are regulars and get a nice welcome.

Found the restaurant following good reviews. The menu rather smal and plain for my taste. Three of us had the veal scallopine. It was stuffed with cheese, garlic and herbs. Incredibly greasy with thick soggy breadcrumbes, over-powering cheese favour - not good at all. We were all disappointed. My partner had the tuna which was definitely better. Expensive wine.

Tim and his staff are attentive without being pushy and really care that you are having a good time. The best Italian in the area for miles ,would thoroughly recommend for a good night out.
