My wife and I went to the Rhianna concert at Twickenham and I booked this Pub/hotel for its convenience as it is located by the River and only 20 mins walk away. The hotel was very pleasant and we had a room with a roof top terrace with great views over the river, the pub was popular and lively without being noisy, breakfast was excellent and would recommend this to my Rugby friends, I will certainly stay again.

Spent a very pleasant couple of days at this hotel. Whilst the hotel itself was good the staff were absolutely lovely and very welcoming which made the stay. The included breakfast was great too. Would definitely stay again.

Stopped at the hotel for an England game at Twickenham. Great location across from the river with about a 15 minute walk to the stadium. The rooms are comfortable and have everything required. The staff were helpful and very friendly. Breakfast was a little disappointing but apart from that I would recommend the hotel

Sad to give a bad review to what has always been a well loved hotel. For many years a group of rugby fans has made the trip for the Premiership Final weekend and stayed at this hotel. It has always been great, well located and very friendly. However this year the whole ambience was different. On arrival we enquired about where we could watch the Carl Froch fight locally to be told that the hotel would put it on for us. On returning to the hotel after an evening in Twickenham we discovered that it could (or would) not do so. The manager was telephoned, but refused when asked by the night porter to speak to us. In the morning he was distinctly unhelpful. We also had conflicting information from staff on room pricing. On discussion we all felt that there had been a bit of an atmosphere all weekend, as if we were too much trouble. Shame as we will now have to find a new hotel after many happy trips. It may be that as it is now part of Youngs chain the special nature of the hotel has been lost. It is also now very expensive for what you get.

Room Tip: Nice views from some rooms over the park and the Thames.

Thank you for commenting following your stay and I'm really sorry that we disappointed you on being unable to show the pay per view transmission of the Froch fight following your day out at the Rugby. Upon check in the receptionist wrongly assumed that the fight was being shown on the regular sports channel available in the hotel. Unfortunately, unlike satellite TV at home where a "press of a button" would have solved the problem, this was not possible with the system we have. The manager on duty when you returned was unable to convince you of this and overcome your obvious disappointment and I'm truly sorry for that.
I can see we agreed and reconfirmed room rates directly with you so I'm not sure why there was any confusion here.
The hotel has always been a member of the Youngs group and we really do try our utmost to ensure that our core values permeate all areas of our business. Once again I'm deeply sorry that we disappointed you on your last visit and hope that you may re consider returning next year.

I stayed at Alexander Pope for 1 night. The rooms are tidy and seem to be also clean. The size of the room and bathroom are not too large but enough for a short stay. The staff is polite and they provide useful information about London sightseeing possibilities. I suggest to book this hotel if you are looking for a reasonable accommodation in the nearby of the city center. You can get to the city centre by bus + tube (form Richmond station) in only 45 minutes.

I stayed here with friends over the late May Bank Holiday after watching the England vs Barbarians match just up the road.

We arrived early and made use of the underground car park before checking in. The Dutch woman on reception was very friendly and assisted us with dinner reservations as well as wishing us a good day.

We checked in after the match itself and made use of the very comfortable bed after a few beers in the sun. The room (215) was very spacious and clean with a view overlooking the conservatory of the pub.

The shower was good with a nice pressure and there were a range of toiletries provided which we made use of.

Being a B&B, breakfast was included the next morning. Cereal, juices, tea, coffee, fruit, pastries etc as well as a choice of cooked were available. I opted for the Eggs Benedict which was fantastic.

I will definitely be back, probably as a regular.
