With lots of places to chose from in St Margaret's, you have to be on your mettle to compete. I've had really good meals at Brocca in the evening so tried it out for breakfast sitting on the pavement, reading the papers and people watching - what could be nicer? Well, the food! The coffee was good and my wife had the eggs benedict which she said were delicious. I wanted a veggie breakfast, which they didn't have, so ordered the English breakfast without the sausage and bacon (for which I was charged the same price - isn't the meat the most expensive bit?). The chef didn't know how to cook fried eggs as they were hard and crinkly round the edges, a paltry display of minute tasteless mushrooms, one tomato and sliced white bread toasted - I had to ask for the butter. I'll eat there again in the evening for their pasta and pizza dishes but no more breckies!
