What a find! Walking down the road we nearly chose the first Nepalese restaurant, we’d not been there either, though this was an excellent choice.

The restaurant wasn’t packed, surprising for a good place in Twickenham, so we wondered if the cliche empty tables suggested we were about to have a bad meal - 100% wrong.

Their slogan is “Guest is equivalent to God”, not far from the truth considering how attentive, helpful and swift the service was.

We ordered a MIXED GRILLED STARTER that includes lamb chop, chicken tikka, shish kebab, king prawn and a garlic naan. Large portion of each meat except for the prawn, though it was one huge one and essentially a starter portion each divided in two. Perfectly cooked, great flavours and started the meal as it meant to go on.

The CHICKEN LASUN KHURSANI went perfectly alongside the owner’s personal recommendation of SPECIAL FRIED RICE - a super tasty combination of well cooked fluffy white rice, wild mushrooms, fried egg and peas. The Lasun Khursani was a delicious sauce based dish with generous amounts of tender chicken meat. It’s labelled “HOT!”, though fortunately I’m quite used to spice so found it pleasantly warm and expect seasoned chilli-heads would agree. The same couldn’t be said for the Mrs who shed a tear after having a spoonful of mine! The flavour was really deep, included chillies, garlic and choice herbs, typically Nepalese and went harmoniously with every other element. Absolutely sensational curry.

My lady enjoyed the LAMB DOPIAZA, complimenting that there was loads of meat and a rich, meaty sauce that again worked wonders with our Special Fried Rice. Full of flavour, this dish included onions, bell peppers and the odd chilli, as per the Panas standard - cooked to perfection.

A really warm, welcoming vibe provided by a knowledgable and engaging host makes Panas one of my top three restaurants in Twickenham - the order changes frequently, tonight, it’s the top!

This is relatively new and clearly is getting a good reputation. Most of the food was excellent however the chef needs to reduce the salt content. The Monkfish curry was very salty

I looked forward to a dining experience at Panas, especially on reading so many good reviews, but ended up somewhat disappointed. Went on a Saturday lunchtime and the place was empty which was no problem, the waiter was extremely attentive and friendly and the place seemed clean and pleasant.
The food however was totally average, portions are generous but the chicken bhuna I ordered looked and tasted like it was cooked in tomato soup with curry powder, vegetable curry much the same, onion bhaji quite good with plain rice.
This was a meal for one, with a small bottled beer and the bill was about £25.
So really average food that you could get get in a thousand other places but at a high price. I don't think a return visit is on the cards anytime soon I'm afraid, very disappointed.
