London Marriott Hotel Twickenham
Ranked #1 of 6 Hotels in Twickenham
Reviewed June 19, 2010

My partner and i stayed at this hotel in May this year when we went to Twickenham to watch England v Barbarians. I booked in advance and got a reasonable rate, for a Marriott! With the hotel being in the ground it couldnt be handier and it was only a short walk from the train station. On arrival our room was not ready and we were asked take a seat in the bar while it was cleaned. Within minutes we were called to the reception desk and were checked in quickly. The room was spacious, clean and what i would expect in terms of quality. We had drinks in the bar before and after the game and the service here again was good. We ordered room service, and enjoyed good food which was delivered to the room within their guaranteed timescale. Breakfast again was very good, plentiful and varied choice from the buffet. A great hotel that played a major part in a great weekend away.

Reception very friendly and helpful especially Oranda Kutch. This receptionist made our stay very pleasant, she did more than was necessary and was helpful at all times. She even checked when we were able to use the Virgin Health Center ,when we arrived we were earlier than check in and was allowed to sit in the lounge area of the Hotel and enjoy free Tea,Coffee and Crossiants while we waited for our room to be ready which did not take long.We think that the free beverages and Crossiants only happens on Match Days which was a bonus for us because that is what we came for to watch Rugby The rooms was very clean and tidy, they looked after our luggage and took it to our room when it was ready. The hotel is a good location for Twickenham Stadium as it is built within the stadium. We had a cheap room through Travel Republic..

I've stayed at the Twickenham Marriott twice, both times attending a conference in the facility. The hotel itself is quite nice and new.
On the lower level, a small bar area is nice for meeting with colleagues and watching for people as they arrive into the hotel. The lower bar closes relatively early, and they move you up to a lounge on the second floor. Also located on the second level is a small restaurant which has a pretty bland feel to it and a menu that wasn't interesting enough to draw me in. There are some nice restaurants towards the center of Twickenham.
The rooms are very nicely appointed, with a large american-style bed. I slept comfortably.
I was moderately annoyed that the internet access was expensive, and even the business center asked for you to pay to use the PC. So sending a quick email home was difficult.

Stayed 4 days at the hotel, friendly helpful staff and a great locality if one is there to watch rugby games which I was there for. The rooms are large and modern, breakfast and meals are good and reasonable priced.
Overall a very good place to stay at, good locality reasonably priced and a must if one is to be in London to watch a rugby match. I would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Absolutely awesome hotel situated within the Twickenham stadium complex. The room was lavishly appointed and had the biggest bed I've ever seen - and probably the most comfortable I've ever slept in! I arrived quite late and ordered room service dinner which was reasonably priced, tasty and arrived quickly. The breakfast menu was huge and had something for everyone. Staff were very welcoming and the hotel itself is very modern and spotlessly clean. My only wish is that I could have stayed longer!

For any rugby fan who doesn't want to have to travel home this hotel is great. A bit pricey but worth it for a rugby fan getaway.

Stayed one night at a rate of £125 inclusive (got free breakfast as I am a Marriott Gold Member) as there was a convention in the stadium.

The hotel is an integral part of the stadium. It was what you expect from a Marriott full service hotel. Room was larger than i expected, and, of course, comfortable. Bar downstairs was standard hotel affair.

Was in the hotel only briefly (arrived at 7:00pm, had dinner at a conference event and left at 7:30am) and, apart from a brief late night drink at the bar, only experienced the free breakfast which was an extensive (and reasonably well cooked) buffet. Internet was, I believe, 'pay for'. I didn't use it or any of the other facilities.

The only downside of the hotel is that it doesn't look like there is any other outlets (food/bars/etc) in the immediate vicinity but it can only be a short walk to Twickenham. Parking was free (it was a non-match day) but I imagine it gets very busy and expensive on match days.

This is a standard full service Marriott and meets the Marriott standards.
