Description: This is very much a Victorian purpose built pub, but its roots are somewhat older. The original Teddington King's Head dates back to 1689, the time of William III. Maybe it's the history of the building that gives the pub its appeal or it could be Polly and her team who are undeniably charming, attentive and professional that make you want to come back time and time again. Our regulars love us for the informality and cosiness of the King's, we have a large pewter bar, inviting snugs, three separate rooms, open fireplaces and a wonderful walled patio at the back (with our own fruiting grape vine). Our open kitchen shows we are as serious about our food as we are about our ales and our wines - the menu features French brasserie dishes with an English pub twist with everything cooked fresh on the premises.

Visited for a Sunday meal, attracted by special wine and dine offer of two courses for £11.50. We were initially told that this offer was available from their Sunday menu. On checking this further, we were told that their menus had just changed today, and that the Sunday menu's were priced higher - this was despite the offer being advertised inside and outside as being available seven days a week. When this issue was raised with the manager he was only willing to offer an alternative menu, one of the dishes was unavailable and others not what I wanted to choose from. In the end I had to choose from the main menu, and therefore not get what I really wanted.

Quality of food was average, and on the basis of prices paid, I would consider to be over priced for what was received.

On a positive note, our waiter was friendly and attentive.

If you are having dinner or lunch in Teddington, do not look any further: this is the best place in town. Food is good and well presented, there is a large selection and service is efficient and friendly. It is not expensive either. It could do with a more varied wine list, but what there is on the list is good. Been there many times and will be back many more.

We popped in for an early supper and ate off their set lunch/dinner menu. At £13.95 for three courses is was good value for good, if not spectacular food. Nice pubby atmosphere and decent service too.

When you pay nearly £80 for a meal you expect it be special, not average, small portions verging on the cold side. Very very disappointing. Although the pub is cosy and service friendly the food is trying too had to be something it isn't and for the extortionate price, failing miserably.

There is a group of 7 of us that eat at this restaurant regularly. The staff are incredibly friendly and super accommodating. The steak is absolutely delicious, as are the sides. (On the odd occasion of ordering something other than steak we have all thoroughly enjoyed the dishes). It is really good value for money. It is in a great location and the adjoining pub, the King's Head, has a fab atmosphere too. There is a lovely garden out the back which can be enjoyed in the summer too. I would highly recommend this place
