“The worst B&B I've ever been in”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 13, 2010

Whilst the hotel photo's on their website are reminiscent of a boutique hotel, the reality is far from it. I've seen other reviews which are quite good so there must be a decent room in there somewhere but I wouldn't recommend you take any chances - avoid at all cost. The walls had dirty marks all over them, the paint was peeling from the walls, there were lumps of plaster missing, other lumps of plaster looked like thay had been thrown from a distance to fill a hole, we had one cup (for 2 of us) which was dirty, the curtains didn't meet in the middle, the room smelt damp as there was no outside ventilation (the room was off a sort of conservatory/hallway). The sheets were clean though - looked like they had been properly laundered (or we would have slept in the tube station instead), and 3 of the 4 towels were also clean. Bizarrely, they gave you little bars of soap, a WIFI code and there was flat screen TV on the wall (though no back on the remote of course)!

My overall view of the hotel was that they did the absolute minimum they could.
Check-In was OK, once they found my booking. Once checked in to Room 5, we were very disappointed with what we saw. It was very tatty. There was no plug for the sink, but despite asking twice, one was never supplied. The carpet was well worn and not fitted properly. It just curled up the skirting board. The shower was grubby and the grouting very dirty. The actual shower flow was good. There was a cracked tile on the floor. When we looked out of the window over the garden, it could have been nice, except for the fact that there were old beds, mattresses and other bits of furniture strewn over the lawn, which were covered in drying washing. We were only given 3 milk portions, so when we had used them, we asked for more. This took 2 requests to achieve.
The actual night's sleep was OK, but there was only one pillow each and we didn't think it was worth asking for another, based on earlier experiences. There was some aircraft noise, being so close to Heathrow, but generally OK.
Breakfast was also disappointing. There was Tea, Coffee and Fruit Juice which was Ok. There were cornflakes and Weetabix all mixed up loose in the same bowl. The cooked breakfast consisted of one streaky rasher, one broken yolk fried egg, a spoonful of beans and one very cheap quality sausage. Toast was fine.
As I said at the beginning, this was just very disappointing and I was glad it was just the one night. It certainly wasn't worth the money and I would not stay there again.

The worst accommodation I've ever had to suffer. It's a building site on the worst side of a bad place.... barely a whisker short of hell.

its ideal for the underground = 5 mins down the road....and 45mins 'ish into covent garden...

the rooms are ok for the 1 nighters maybe 2.....but not for a main holiday....but u get what u pay for and west end hotels are very expensive...so.....u make the choice = its a very clean but basic b&b........and really ok and safe....comfy bed....good free parking .....good location.....8 mins literally from the motorway....and heathrow....would stay again

We came down from South Wales to attend a family funeral in Hounslow. The B&B is easy to reach from the M4 with convenient on-site parking, and only a five minute walk from Hounslow West tube station. Staff welcomed us warmly and showed us to a clean, ample sized en-suite room with shower, hairdryer, fridge, television and tea/coffee making facilities. Although Heathrow is very close, we nevertheless had an undisturbed sleep. There are many inexpensive restaurants within a five-minute walk offering a variety of cuisines, so eating out was a pleasure. Breakfast was plentiful and freshly cooked to order from a wide choice. The B&B were flexible over our check-out time which enabled us to work around the funeral arrangements.

The Firs Lodge is good value for money, family friendly and run by approachable and understanding staff. Although we stayed for the saddest of reasons, the B&B is a good base for a West End show and catching a plane the next day. I would definitely use the Firs Lodge again and will recommend it to others.

When we pulled up to this place it was dark so didnt look to bad, god how wrong we were! The carpet on the stairs didnt fit or match, the room was awful, very old and grubby. Thank god we didnt spend much time there as we were off to Twickenham for the rugby. There was no hot water and we had cold showers! No one seemed to care there and they had all sorts of people just wandering around and playing loud music. The breakfast was cooked and reheated and bloody terrible, and the breakfast room had a broken razor head just left on the side. Outside the back they are building what can only be described as a shanty town, it was a mess. The front had a car with no wheels and rubbish every where. Dont stay there it is awful!!!
