“2 excellent back to back visits”
Reviewed August 7, 2014

We dined here on a Monday and Tuesday evening, so the restaurant was quite quiet. We were seated in a lovely window table for 2 with plenty of elbow room around you as well, so reasonably private if someone had happened to have been sat on the next table.

I had pork for one meal and sirloin for the second. Both were excellent meals - 5 star without a shadow of doubt. I can highly recommend the Dante Robino Malbec too to accompany the sirloin. If you like a lager with your food as I often do, the Birra Moretti is also excellent and served in the correct glass.

Service and food quality are fantastic here, be assured.

I will certainly be returning here on my next stay in Bridlington and this will now become a regular eatery for us on subsequent visits. Other reviews state that this is a hidden gem - it really is. Well worth the trip out to the old town, which itself is very picturesque and worth a walk around.

If you are walking here from Bridlington centre, allow yourself 25 minutes or so depending how fast you stroll. Or just jump in cab for a couple of quid.

“Lovely food, formal but pleasant service - We'd definitely recommend it”
Reviewed August 3, 2014

We found this restaurant on our tom tom! And were very pleased with our find. We arrived a little early (in fact half an hour before they opened) as we were in the area and it was getting a little cool. The gentleman serving was very friendly and quite unperturbed by our early arrival. He offered drinks and if the chef was ready was quite happy to serve us. We were lucky as the chef was also very accommodating. I had a delicious smoked fish and potato starter which my fussy 13 year old also thought excellent. Hubbie went for the goats cheese starter and he too rated it excellent. The children had scampi and chicken goujons followed by a portion of chocolate fudge cake - no complaints there! My main course was rabbit stew - again delicious with dumplings and vegetables served separately. The portion was enormous!! And hubbie had the creamy mushrooms on a pastry base - rather rich but very tasty. The food was very well priced though the schweppe bottle soft drinks were a little more costly. We'd definitely recommend this restaurant to those in the area. The gentleman serving was very helpful, accommodating and pleasant and it was nice to see the old town in Bridlington.

“Top rate lunch”
Reviewed July 29, 2014 via mobile

Just had a lovely two course lunch at The Lamp. There was a table of 4 of us and we chose from the specials board. Very good, helpful and friendly service. The food was all freshly prepared and to a high standard. Good choice of menu for a lunchtime. We were able to swap salads for peas and change other things easily and without any problems. Top marks to everyone. Good value for money as well. Will be back! Evening menu looks very good so watch this space! Thank you.
