With summer making an unexpected return last weekend, we headed to the coast to spend the day in Bridlington. Fish & chips is a must on any such outing so, after checking the reviews on Trip Advisor, we decided to visit Busy Bees. It may not be the highest ranked chippy in town but its location is good and unlike some of its rivals its ratings didn't seem to be boosted by a high number of one review contributors giving it five stars! My wife and I shared a jumbo haddock & chips between the two of us, which was plenty for lunch. The fish was very fresh and tasty with crisp batter though I'd have preferred the fish to be skinless. The chips were pretty good too. The big disappointment was the speed of service. Even though the queue wasn't that big it took over 20 minutes to get served. They seemed understaffed. Maybe the unseasonably warm weather and the increase in customers caught them out. Let's hope so as otherwise the wait in peak season would be unbearable.
