“Not a very good experience”
Reviewed October 4, 2013 via mobile

Poor experience to be honest, the boiler was broke unfortunately so we couldn't make any rock. So the rest of the tour was free. The staff in the shop was polite and explained so we was happy enough. When we got to the chocolate lolly section, the woman wasn't very child friendly, the staff seemed really miserable. When on a factory tour you would expect to see jolly workers. The tour took around 10 minutes. We left feeling disappointed really.

“great family day out!”
Reviewed August 24, 2013

We had an absolutely brilliant day out here, £11 for family of 5, which we thought wasnt expensive compared to other places, plus another £1 each to roll your own rock, which the kids thought was great, informative walk round the factory sampled biscuits, toffee, chocs. The gift shop was rather pricey though, then we went into the candy kingdom soft play, 3 kids had 2 hours play for £13, a bit more than I hoped to have paid, but still kept the kids happy, however the cafe was expensive but thats the only thing wrong with the whole day, definitely worthwhile a visit, and we would go back again.

“Unexpectedly great!”
Reviewed August 22, 2013

Spent a happy hour or so in the factory with two kid s 8 and 10, and really enjoyed watching the process. make sure you watch the screens, and though its only £2.50 to get in, be prepared to pay a couple of quid more to roll your own rock! The food in the cafe has to be mentioned. It's excellent! Te kids meals are good, the nuggets are real chicken, the pasta bake is an appropriate size and has hidden veg in it, and the adults meals are hearty and fresh. Service is friendly and speedy, but look out for the gift shop. It's far more pricy than you think it is.

“Good value and interesting”
Reviewed August 21, 2013

This factory tour is a firm favourite with my two daughters. Although it is small there is enough to see and do for about an hour to an hour and a half. The staff who run the rock rolling and chocolate jolly making activities are very happy to answer questions and chat about how things work. There activities are an optional extra costing £1 each but are well worth doing. I like the fact that there are not included in the entrance fee as this means only the children pay for it and as the entrance fee is so low it is a very cheap trip out compared to some. Although sometimes quite busy my children are happy to wait because of the free sweet and biscuit samples on offer all the way around! The cafe attached is excellent value with children getting a meal deal (hot food, a drink and a bun) for only £2.50. I haven't ever used the attached soft play after but it looks good and would help make the visit last all day although it does cost extra. The shop has a great range of sweets and treats for all price ranges. We especially like the mis shape bags of fudge or rock for only £1. This place is definitely worth a visit.
