Description: TAKE AWAY ONLY - NO SEATING AS OF LATE OCTOBER 2016 WE ARE CURRENTLY THE ONLY FISH AND CHIP SHOP IN BRIDLINGTON COOKING IN RAPESEED OIL, NO MORE BEEF DRIPPING - NO MORE SATURATES USED, WE ARE TRYING OUR BEST TO GIVE PEOPLE A BETTER, HEALTHIER OPTION WHEN IT COMES TO TAKE AWAY FOOD. Oldest established fish and chip take away shop in Bridlington, Richard has owned Gabbys since 2001 and is proud of how over the years has gone from strength to strength. We have all the usual chip shop food from cod, haddock, chips to sausages and fish cakes, we also have the slightly less common battered black pudding, corned beef fritters and onion rings, If you like curry you may be surprised to discover we do 4 different types -chip shop, Chinese, Irish and Vegetable! We also have 2 types of Gravy -chip shop and vegetable! We have a huge range of choice starting at just 30p. There is a specials board in the chippy where you'll find our new ideas to try - our newest addition which is extremely popular is Italiano Chips - chips smothered in cheese and topped with our secret recipe Italian sauce! Overall we try our best to keep the portions large, quality high and prices rock bottom!

No royal photo-opportunities required! If you want decent fish & chips at a decent price, done properly then Gabbys is as good as anywhere in Brid and considerably better than most. Ignore the nonsense about other places being the best in the country three years ago - they weren't even the best in the town then! Would you trust some anonymous southerner or would you trust a local?

We found the Chips a bit greasey (maybe due to new pots, but others doing same and fine), fish was ok but batter overcooked and hard.

Peas tasted of the Bicarb of Soda and to thick, in fact one scoop or two that thick!

After seeing the reviews wanted to try but will not rush back as brid as a lot better.

Our second visit this years and as great as the first. Fish and chips will be a disappointment next time from other future vendors unless we are really really lucky! Thanks.

We traveled from our holiday accommodation in Scarborough to Bridlington for the sole reason of getting our tea from Gabby's. We had been in Bridlington a few years back and would not even consider any place else over Gabby's. This was our 3rd trip to the fish & chip shop and as ever we were met by friendly staff. We ordered 3 fish & chips and even though there was a portion of fish ready in the heated unit all of our fish order was cooked fresh. The chips were golden and cooked to perfection. This made for a very tasty fish tea. The shop has been refitted since our last visit and all looked great. Rich very kindly gave us the fish that had been sitting in the heated unit free of charge as the shop was due to close for the afternoon. If you don't have a big appetite then maybe split a portion of fish & chips with someone else, however if you do then you are in for a treat. Top class service & food. No complaints and to be perfectly honest I don't think I ever will. Well done Gabby's - you rock!!!
