First time visit to this B&B . Friendly greeting from Maggie, Terry and their son Sean. Given parking permit so managed to park outside hotel and carry luggage in easily. The family originates from Barnsley and have the typical down to earth easy going attitude. The twin-bedded room was immaculately clean, the beds comfortable and tea /coffee tray carried plenty of supplies.Flat screen tv with remote & freeview. The en suite has been addition to the room at the cost of wardrobe space, so hanger space is limited for your clothes.
After a restful nights sleep we awoke to the alarm clock, normally in "Brid" we are woken by the seagulls cries, but we never heard a thing.Down for a breakfast that had received a commendation for quality, and rightly so.Choices of cereals, a good glass of orange juice (or two or three in our case), fresh cooked bacon, sausage, fried egg, hash browns, mushrooms, fried bread. Normally served with tinned tomatoes but our request for fresh tomatoes the day before was no problem, so along side our food was a tasty selection of cherry tomatoes.Tea and coffee good, toast as requested by me to finish off with the jam and marmalade.
Strictly a no smoking hotel, two benches outside the front surrounded by a pretty flower display give the smoker their freedom to enjoy a relaxing (if dangerous) endulgence.
The Westward Ho is located a short walk from the harbour and Spa Theatre, with lots of eateries/shops.Two minutes to the child friendly beach and child play areas.
Highly recommended to all holidaymakers, will certainly stay again!
