Arrived to a warm welcome from Paul and Brenda and a delightful surprise as my bedroom door was opened. Excellent furnishings, high ceilings and tastfully decorated. Most importantly after a long journey, a self contained shower and loo and firm comfortable bed. Dinner was recommended at a Hotel 60 seconds walk away, excellent. After a great nights sleep it was up to a lovely breakfast in a charming dining room. I would stay here again and strongly recommend this little gem of a place.

Just arrived back from our short holiday in Bridlington, stayed at the Glen Alan Guesthouse, where we had a lovely time, the owners could not do enough for us. I have just read the latest reviews for the Glen Alan and can only say "What Rubbish", these people must be really hard to please, the hotel is decorated and furnished in a traditional style, which is quite lovely considering it is a Victorian building!!

These people must be minimalistics which I must say is not to everyones taste and certainly not mine, surely if these people had looked at the website they would have seen the way it is furnished and decorated, maybe their brains are minimalistic too!!

Dont let these people put you off staying at the Glen Alan, I will certainly be returning and recommending to friends, oh and by the way the breakfast was fantastic.

The guesthouse has been completely refurbished in June 2010, the bedrooms have been decorated and furnished in a more contemporary fashion. All en suites have had the tiling removed and a new modern Wet Wall applied along with new fittings. The Glen Alan was given a Four Star Silver Award and a Breakfast Award in July 2010.

As a last minute thing, we decided to head to Bridlington for a couple of days as it is years since we have been and we have since had our little boy. We found this hotel online and gave them a call to book as it was very short notice. At first, we were advised that they did not have a family room available, but they swapped some other guests around to accomodate us.
This hotel is what I would describe as a typical, traditional seaside guest house. But don't let that put you off - it is meant to be like that. However, the owners have obviously spent alot of time, effort and money creating the atmosphere and welcome.
We were welcomed in the inviting lounge and our bags were taken up to our room for us. The room itself was decorated to a high standard and furnished with Victorian/Edwardian furniture. Breakfast was also of a high standard served in the friendly dining room. One thing that does let the hotel down is that it is not disabled/elderly friendly as there is no lift.
However, the resort of Bridlington does leave a lot to be desired. During the day it is fine, but at night there is nothing to do. We went during the first week of the school holidays and everything was closed by 7pm (even the fun fair on the promenade). We had to drive to Scarborough for something to do. If the economy of Brid is struggling I can see why - they are not inviting people in.

I booked this Hotel as a stopover to celebrate my Daughters' birthday at a favourite restaurant in Bridlington.
We were pleasantly surprised to find our stay equally as special due to the outstanding service from our hosts, Paul & Brenda.
The room was comfortable, light & spacious, the Hotel spotlessly clean & we enjoyed a delicious home cooked breakfast.
We were made to feel very much at home and were treated as friends as well as valued guests!
We hope to return with more of the family in Oct.
Many thanks, Julie & Deb

Superb A1. After searching the internet for some accommodation for me and the family in Bridlington i found Brenda and Pauls hotel the Glen Alan Hotel at www.glenalanhotel.co.uk. Booked up over the phone and upon arrival were welcomed in by Brenda & Paul ( a real nice, genuine couple ). We took the top floor suite with sea views which was decorated to a very high standard my partner was over the moon! You could see and feel the quality of all the fittings and i could't fault a thing. After a look into Bridlingtons busy town - only 5 minuits walk we came back to enjoy our evening meal which was also gorgeous and high quality. Breakfast great also, all locally bought. I couldn't fault this accommodation at all and really deserves its four stars if not more. To my supprise This hotel is not more money than most in Bridlington. My only regret was not having more time to spend there, we all felt so welcomed. We will be returning soon and feel as though we have also made some great friends. If you d read this Brenda, thank you and see you soon.
