Description: A small restaurant specialising in serving top-quality, mostly locally sourced fish and seafood, simply. We believe that the freshness and quality of our seafood is best served without fancy sauces, we prefer to let the fish do the talking! We pride ourselves in the warmth and friendliness of our welcome and are always willing to bend over backwards to ensure the customer experience is second to none.

“Simply the best”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 3, 2014

This was not our first visit and definitely will not be the last. The choice of fish, the choice of way for it to be cooked, the staff, the friendly atmosphere the price are all second to non in this wonderful seafood restaurant. I have eaten at the magpie in Whitby and the food at the naked fish far out shines what is supposedly one of the best in the country. The people of Bridlington are very fortunate to have such a restaurant on their doorstep. Already looking forward to our next visit which hopefully will be very soon indeed.

“So so disappointed”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 2, 2014 via mobile

We looked this restaurant up on TA and thought it was the ideal place for our family evening meal after a day on the beach.
On arrival I got the feeling that we were not welcome and the waiting staff were trying to talk us out of eating there, but as 2 of our party were in there 70s and slightly disabled and another 2 were just young children I didn't want to start looking for else ware. After having eventually having our order taken and being told that more or less everything on the menu was sold out I found the service to be slow and quite unprofessional especially for a restaurant that is ranked no 2 in Bridlington.
The fish was poor and so were the chips and then to be told that they didn't do desserts, not even an ice cream for the children says it all.
I would say that this restaurant is no more than a cafe along side a chippy that sells very average fish and chips. There must be better in Brid surely!!!

Firstly we are devastated that your visit was less than enjoyable; neither myself nor James, the owner, we're working on the evening you visited and are shocked and horrified at the level of service you received.
We always aim to provide a warm, friendly welcome and we are very disappointed that our member of staff did not fulfill your and our expectation, additional training has already been undertaken.
All I can add is that should you decide to re-visit our restaurant and give us another chance, I will personally assure you of an all round excellent experience.
Thank you very much for bringing this to our attention, it is much appreciated,
Patrick

“Disappointed”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 30, 2014

Staying in Bridlington for an event at the Spa I wanted to find a place to eat not too far away where i could go with my mother (who needs to use a mobility scooter) I love having fish and chips at a seaside resort but not everyday and as we enjoy fish we thought this would be good alternative to the seemingly endless fish n chip restuarnts/cafes or the usual pub grub. Very disappointed to find almost everything was served with chips and the hot dishes were mostly fish in batter. we thought we could order slad instead of chips and asked for a portion of salad and all we got was an extra largen serving of the 'bistro leaves' garnish. The serving staff , although very pleasant could not on asking, identify what the leaves actually were and said they didn't use iceberg lettuse - that was a surprise because evidently any prawn/lobster cocktails on the menu were also served with these unidentified bistro salad leaves. If you like fresh lobster - that is probably the main thing to recommend at this place, since there was a tank of live lobster there. Part of the restaurant was a takeaway and the restaurant part very small ( I noticed stairs, but have no idea if there were other tables upstairs)..it is a real shame in my opinion that they don't make more of the fact that this is a fish restaurant. The staff should be better trained to know what exactly is on the menu and be able to 'sell' that dish to you when you explain what it is you are looking for. If you enjoy fish in batter...plenty on offer but very over priced compared with alternatives on the area.

Thank you for posting a review of our restaurant, all feedback is important to us.
I am sorry that your meal at Naked Fish was a disappointment.
Let me try and address some of the issues you raise.
When you came in to our restaurant you ordered the 'North Sea Starter', this is goujons of battered fresh cod and haddock served with tartare sauce. This is a starter from our menu and very popular. You asked for a salad accompaniment which we supplies at no charge. Yes the salad does consist of bistro leaves, onion, pepper, cucumber and tomato, you were given a large bowl of this, again at no charge. No, we do not use iceberg lettuce, we believe it is somewhat old-fashioned and tasteless, we use locally-sourced bistro leaves which we believe have more flavour and more attractive in the salads we serve.
You recognise that we serve a wide variety of locally-sourced fish and seafood, ALL of which is available either pan fried or in batter as is clearly stated in the menu. Obviously we also sell wonderful local crab and lobster.
You took advantage of our downstairs restaurant as your mother has mobility issues, these tables can get busy and at busy times it is not a bad idea to reserve them. We do have an upstairs restaurant with views overlooking the South Bay.
I concede that our prices may be marginally more expensive than other establishments on and around the harbour, this is due to our insistence on using only high quality fresh fish and other high class ingredients, your North Sea Starter was £4.95, not, I believe excessive for the meal you were served.
As an alternative to our glorious chips, crusty bread is always available.
Again, I am sorry that your experience with us was disappointing, happily this is a rare occasion in our restaurant.
If you decide to return to us, please avail yourself of our pan-fried fish and hopefully, then, you will enjoy your meal with us.
Patrick
