A birthday day night out booked long ago. Table prelaid one glass for the 4of us. A litte better with knives we had three until the waiter knocked on on the floor and didnt replace But we did have 4 napkins.

No sooner sat down and waiter without giving wine menus asked what can I get you to drink. Menus give we later ordered the drinks hearing mutterings under breath. Order came but only in part. Starter came and went. Plates still on table from starters when second waiter came to take order. Pointed out we we already in process of eating - he got the wrong table. Meal not too complicated but Lasanga burnt. - edible if not a little crunchy around the edges. No standard waiter questions such as is everything alright? can I get you anything else? would you like more drinks? Plates cleared and we sat and sat finishing the drink and waiting. Glasses then just removed without a word. We sat waiting some more but eventually deciding enough. Paid bill - no tip reflecting no service. Overall impression a good place to go to pay money to eat something poorly preared and offered with no service. its gone down hill.

As with many others who have written reviews we have also been regular customers for many years. It seems some of the staff have changed and there is no longer the personal service which we have enjoyed here. The menu has changed to include more meat and fish however you have to order any side dishes as extras with steak/chicken etc or you do not get any! The dessert menu now only consists of profitteroles or a kids ice cream in a plastic toy. We will return as it's a very local restaurant but sorry to say it could improve.

We were with a party of nearly 40 which took up half the restaurant, space was tight though and I was knocked every time someone passed me. We had a baby and the waiter did try and suggest we left the pram outside.. It was snowing! They did have a high chair though.. Food was ok, service was excellent and they were friendly. I would go back again.

We hadn't been to our local Italian restaurant for a little while, and when we booked for New Year's Eve we thought we would have a reasonable meal - as when mass catering on occasions like this restaurants aren't usually at their best. We ate our words - a really delicious meal, good service and fun atmosphere, and we left wondering why we don't visit more often.

We have been to this restaurant many times over the years and it is currently not up to scratch. We have always found the waiters friendly and attentive but for the last two visits at best I would say they were indifferent. The food - well I had a seafood risotto with crunchy onions and tasteless seafood. My husband had stodgy (or is that dodgy) tortellini. If an Italian restaurant can't get these staples right there is not much hope for the rest of the menu is there?
