“Nice Gardens, Not really a castle”
Reviewed June 12, 2013

The gardens are great to walk around on a nice day but don't be fooled, it's not a proper castle. But nonetheless it's a nice attraction and not too expensive, there is also some nice longer walks in the countryside, if you want to spend longer there

“Beautiful parkland walks and renowned garden with ace cafe and children's playground”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

Our walking group does the 4 mile trail through meadows with sheep and deer, oak woods, bluebells and rhododendrons and a lake which incorporates architectural features of the original country house. Open air productions must be marvelous if the weather is right. Families must love the playground and picnic area as they can bring their own food and have a full day out for the cost of a £3 car park token. Coach party bookings can eat in the first floor cafe so all-comers are welcomed.

“Couldn't believe my eyes Brilliant!”
Reviewed June 5, 2013

Not being a gardener but like historical buildings I was a bit apprehensive on visiting Wentworth Castle, how wrong was I, what a fabulous place one of these little hidden gems in Yorkshire the gardens were beyond belief the colours were stunning and the staff were so helpfull, there is no problem parking and for the less mobile of people it is easily accessible around the gardens (even a golf buggy to transport you round if required). I can say that the staff are so professional that it makes the start of the visit so relaxing we were met by a lovely lady called, April who just explained every thing and made our day, one special mention should be made abput Fred one of the many volunteers, he explained about the history of the gardens and the plants, this place is a must to see.

“An assault of colour for your eyes”
Reviewed June 2, 2013

The colours in the garden were breathtaking. They really were. There is something for everyone here and set in a large area of parkland, Wentworth Castle proves to be a very versatile destination for a visit. Look at monuments, looks at Stainborough Castle and look for the deer in the parkland. Then go and spend time in the gardens.
