Such a chilled out and happy place for climbers of all grades, interests and ages. If you're only up for a few metres the bouldering wall is great and the crash mats are the thickest I've ever seen... handy for when I go for the V6's and realise I'm still not good enough! The wall is reset more often and to better quality than any other wall I've visited. I love the tall wall too... not for the faint-hearted but to be able to get this high at an indoor location is pretty extraordinary. I would say the prices are reasonable for the services and a good range of walls to keep you busy for hours, whether it's curved, straight, rock-textured, leaning or those overhangs which I still keep falling off.

I started climbing at AW and every else hasn't felt the same. The staff are helpful and keen climbers. I just love the variety, the atmosphere, the systems, the grading and the height. As well as the milkshakes and panini's which are PERFECT for refuelling.... best of all you can sit and enjoy it watching other climbers above you. I go after work normally- the opening hours are very practical and unlike most other walls it doesn't tend to get crowded. The wall is quite chalky/dirty but at least it helps the grip. Would highly recommend.... climb on!!

By the way... I'm a 30-something very enthusiastic novice!!

Awesome Walls is pretty awesome, it has huge lead walls and a good mix of top ropes too, along with a massive bouldering area. The grades can be a bit all over the place, think of them more as a rough guide than an actual grade!

The only issue I have had here is with the staff being a bit eager to get you out at the end of the night - I understand that it's nearly 10pm and you've had a long day, but rushing people out of the door and kicking people off climbs when there's still 15-20 mins till closing is not great from a customer point of view.

I visit Awesome Walls Stockport regularly with a variety of friends including non-climbers and climbers alike.

It's a great venue with something for everyone from bouldering walls to warm-up on, top roped area with some great overhangs and plenty of lead climbing routes for all abilities. Lots of free parking and friendly, helpful staff.

So whether you're new to climbing and just looking for some fun or you're a regular - Awesome Walls Stockport is definitely worth a visit ... or two!

Visited the Stockport centre, but not listed separately, so have included under Liverpool.

Visited for a children's party. Worth it if you can get the Groupon offer for £65 (although the £168 saving quoted seems a bit misleading, as party package online quoted as £10 per person plus £15 for room per half hour)! If you pay full price, you will party alongside others paying half as much and they get a slighly better deal.
I think it would be a better deal for customers if they cut the cost, or offered a more attractive deal for their party groups overall, rather than a discount for just a few. They may then get more repeat business and word of mouth recommendations, rather than paying Groupon to advertise.
The party room is available for food, but you don't get any time to set up the food before the children are ready to eat, so can be a bit of a rush. Five minutes to set up before they are ready would be a good idea.
Children enjoyed it. Probably best suited for quieter groups, rather than those who like to run around. Lots of groups of children around, I did wonder what the 'serious' climbers think about this.
