“The best venue in Stockport”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 20, 2013

I just love this place - I went for lunch with friends to day and the food was great (rarebit with salad) and excellent value. Have also been to see films here - they have someone playing the Compton (like a Wurlitzer) to get you in the 1930s mood. And they screen NT live, which I probably only go to because its in such a fab venue. I am 32 btw, in case you might be thinking that its a place for older people only.

“Lovely theatre and fantastic tea rooms”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 7, 2013 via mobile

A lovely theatre in 1930s style with stunning architecture. Loved the tearoom upstairs. Authentic and incredible value for money....well filled sandwiches and home made scones. I'd recommend anyone pops in for afternoon tea when going to a show. The theatre itself is great....a good size with traditional architecture in place. Normally I'm the UK we wouldn't need to complain its hot and there was no air con but that was the case this weekend. No air con was. Definite negative to the afternoon. A venue well worth a visit and really don't forget that tea shop-cafe inside, it's sooooo worth a visit. Friendly staff and speedy service make it even more of a fantastic experience.

“Amazing 1920's elegance”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 6, 2013

How absolutely charming. Our family of four had a wonderful time, enjoying the lovely food. The staff, all volunteers who clearly adore the theatre were delightful and obviously love the amazing building. Our 10year old wants to take her friends for afternoon tea , our 15 year old 'appreciated the style and elegance' not a bad comment from a teenage boy ! As we left, a volunteer offered to show us around the theatre, fabulous. An absolute gem, not one to stay secret.

“Great theatre with lots of leg room.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 26, 2013

Went to see sally morgan here and was a great experience. Its a refurbished cinema and the good thing for me was the amount of leg room, not like some theatres where my legs are up to my neck when I sit down. booking is easy online and its better to do this as the entrance does get a bit crowded. if in the balcony plenty of stairs to climb but \i enjoyed it with it giving a good view. parking outside is a no no so you need to park in the main car parks in Stockport or go on the train, only about 10 minutes walk away. A good night out .
