“Lovely food but service very slow”
Reviewed December 30, 2011

We visited Da Vinci's on 29/12/12 and booked a table for 9 for 5.45 pm as we were going to the plaza at 7.30. They had a lovely kids menu and the prices were great and there was a limited christmas menu which was fine as we all intended having pizza anyway. The dough balls we all had for a starter were really fresh and tasty and we all enjoyed the pizzas too. The only thing that let the place down was the amount of time we had to wait for the meal. There was only 2 other tables in and it still took over an hour for the pizza to come. We had hungry children and had to tell the kids to stop talking and eat their pizza as we would not have time to finish the meal before we needed to head off. We even had to order dessert early as they all wanted ice cream but did not want to have to wait for that either. The waitress was lovely and we know it was not her fault. The owner/manager was no where to be found, apart from greeting us on arrival. I tried to look for him as I did not want to moan at the waitress as she was already getting complaints from the other table. The chef walked through the restaurant about half an hour after we arrived so maybe that was the problem. Don't get me wrong, its a lovely place and the food is good quality but we paid over £100 pound for a meal that we had to wolf down in 15 minutes ( we thought an hour and a half would be enough time for a pizza!) which ruined it for us as we wanted a chilled out meal. I would say its worth a visit but only if you have a couple of hours to spare and on a busy day you could be there all night!!!
