I ate at Olivers for the first time last night with my family and I'm absolutely delighted we went.
To start with the decor and ambiance are spot on - modern and clean without being sterile, the place was full (always a good sign) and the waiting staff seemed completely in control.
I started with fennel and peppercorn crusted beef carpaccio which was absolutely stunning, possibly the best starter I've ever had. The balance of flavours was incredible and the beef was so so tender - brilliant! My main was pancetta wrapped pork which was tender and full of flavour, and for dessert I had the cheese board, which for a change had only 1 cheese I recognised from a selection of 5 as they were mainly from small local producers. And the 3 I tried were great, as was the homemade chutney that came with them.
The service was attentive but not overbearing, the wine list was excellent, and although it isn't cheap, its really very good value.
You really must give this place a try!
