“Best Indian restaurant in the area”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 29, 2013

Having moved to New Mills last year we've tried out a few Indian restaurants and takeaways in the area, but this one is definitely our favourite. It's now got new owners and changed its name to Disley Masala. The location is slightly uninspiring, next to a petrol station on the A6, but they've tried to make it look appealing with plants and decking. We went with a tastecard, but this didn't seem to affect the level of service or quality of food.

The gigantic (the size seems to be the standard) naans are delicious. Along with the classic dishes there are more unusual dishes like Prawn McCartney which I had - I hadn't seen the combination of prawns and paneer anywhere else, but it was delicious and portion sizes were generous. Only small issue was that I ordered a pint of lime and soda, which I assumed would come from a soda tap, but instead involved buying 2 small bottles of mixers and the lime meaning that it was the same price as my husband's pint of beer.

“Great Tasting Meal”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 26, 2013

Have visited a number of times previously and when guests from London said they "fancied an Indian" hoped this might be a good choice for the Saturday night.
As it turned out one of our guests thought that the prawn dish was the best ever compared with her local restaurant at home.
All starters and main courses were enjoyed by others and the bill at £125.40 was reasonable as it included two bottles of wine and some soft drinks.
My only area of slight concern was that of the service. Taking orders was fine but those serving did not seem to have a very good understanding of English. Only mention this as normally the service here is second to none.
Would recommend if you have not been here before. Need to book for a Saturday night as tends to be very busy.
