First time staying here and it will not be the last. Have always stayed in center of Manchester and paid over the top in other hotels. Advised by staff to get 24 hour buss pass which is only £4.00 and used it to go into Manchester, which is only 10 mins, both day and night with stop being right outside hotel. Hotel its self was spotless with rooms very large. Bar area and restaurant also spotless with very helpful staff. Would recommend having breakfast @ only £4.00 for all you can eat with separate seating area for hotel guests. Definitely recommend.

Very good place to stay, good value , friendly staff, clean , quite, well decorated rooms and perfect location ! The stairs to the rooms are very steep and narrow and there are lot stairs, if you have big luggages like we did, It will be close to impossible to get it up there, unless you are strong enough to climb up with a 50lb suit case on your back, they don't offer any help either. :( Loved the breakfast, vey nice for a continental . Dinner is very good for the price.I would definitely recommend to a friend or family

The room was tucked away in the rafters of the building with the initial odour of roast dinners remaining until it had permeated through everything I owned. The television was arranged in such a way as the house facing the hotel had a better chance of watching it than I did. The bed was arranged so my head was halfway in the corridor which made any chance of meaningful sleep impossible as I was woken when anyone else in the hotel was. Bedding was inadequate. Bathroom would have been a welcome relief at a festival. Breakfast the following morning was surprisingly good however tainted so slightly but the insistence of the staff on discussing the entirety of their health ailments irrespective of our presence was a little off putting. £30 for bed and breakfast though!

Stooped here numerous times whilst working in stockport. Check in the bar area seems to work ok. Staircase to the rooms smells a bit damp. Rooms fine, showers ok, free continental breakfast is good. Would use again..well worth the £44 per night.

I went for Sunday lunch (6/4/14) with my friends (party of 8) the place was absolutely heaving. A very popular place. The joints of meat looked delicious, there was a choice of Roast Pork, Roast Beef, Gammon and Turkey. There was a huge variety of vegetables ie. cabbage, carrots, cauliflower cheese, peas, parsnips, mashed potato, roast potato, onions in gravy. There was vegetarian gravy, horseradish gravy and beef gravy with all the usual sauces to accompany the meal. The meal was really tasty, the meat was cooked to perfection, so tender. The only complaint was - the meat slices are so thin it spoilt the whole experience. I'm sure they could give proper slices with the volume of diners they must make a decent profit. Tthe yorkshire puds were a bit pale and didn't taste of anything much room for improvement there. On the otherhand maybe it was a one off. I shall try it again.

Here for 2 nights on business and could not fault the service or venue. The staff were friendly and chatty and the manager could not be more helpful. I am very impressed with the quality of the rooms and how clean and comfprtable they are. A very big thumbs up.
