I stayed 3 nights in single room for £116.00 inc continental breakfast.Warm, Clean and neat room, fresh looking decor and carpet. Good sized bathroom. Plenty clean towels, soap etc. Maid came in each day to replace towels, make bed etc. Very friendly, helpful staff. Only slight negatives were stair carpet looked a bit threadbare in places and restaurant was extremely busy particularly on the Sunday. If you want to eat might be an idea to ask staff about quieter times. The food heavy on the carbs but very reasonably priced. It was in an ideal location for my purpose and would definitely stay here again.

Booked two rooms, a twin and a family room. Both large rooms, (family rooms sleeps 4) comfy beds, clean and great value at £54 per room including a complimentary continental breakfast. Took my daughter and friend to a concert at the Apollo. It's just a quick 5 min drive down the road. Only downside the bar does not stay open late for residents. Got back from Apollo at 11.15 and bar was shut. Staff very friendly and helpful, check inn was quick, check out, just drop keys in a box. Better than Travelodge/Premier, more individual and offers extras (e.g toothbrush, razors, shower gel etc) at no extra charge. Overall great value.

Stayed here one Sunday night in Feb 2014. This is a well maintained older house with the hotel section above a Toby restaurant. Hotel check-in is at the bar in the Toby - rather disconcerting on a busy night, zero privacy and a difficult position for the staff to access the computer.

Do your checking-in without your luggage, then get your bags and go to the hotel entrance along the external veranda away from the bar. The door has an electronic lock opened with a special fob on the key ring. We had a twin bedded room (no 109) overlooking the car park and main road (A6) but noticed little in the way of traffic noise. Room was light and airy, clean and tidy. Bedding was comfortable and clean. Bathroom was clean and tidy, towels fresh and soft [but the shower spray-head, hose, and tiles need some TLC [re-grouting and one or two re-fixed]). We slept very well indeed. TV, tea/coffee and free in-room wifi were a welcome bonus. We didn't find a way of adjusting the room temperature.

The 4-roast carvery in the Toby was obviously very popular with the local folk as the place was very busy, but the staff were professional and coped well The roasts were piping hot and the freshly cooked vegetables just perfect. The breakfast buffet was equally appetising

A nice place to stay, eat and relax - highly recommended even if paying the full price. We would go back again when visiting that part of Manchester

Room Tip: On-site car park and close to a train station make this a great place for visiting Manchester

Spent one night there with my wife on an overnight business visit, a lovely pub site with the hotel accommodation on the upper floors.
The room was small but cosy with en suit shower. Bed was comfortable and bedding clean and fresh, in short it was very good value for money and the price included a full English Breakfast, would visit again without doubt.

Booked an overnight stay here so we could travel into Manchester for the day just before Christmas. Our room was clean and not a bad size with coffee making facilities. We had breakfast the next day which was of average standard but there was plenty of choice. The one down side was that we were woken up about 6am with the sound of large fans ( presumably from the kitchen below ) The hotel was convenient for the train station just a few minutes walk. For the price we paid it was good value for money and I would certainly return and recommend to any one wanting a short break.

Very clean room. Bed quite comfy.

Shower not very powerful, but nice and hot!

Cavery restaurant quite good. Breakfast has plenty to choose from whether having the free continental or the cooked breakfast which is extra.

Room Tip: Try to book well in advance as they sometimes have cheap offers available

Booked this as a short break.
Good value for what we paid - nice clean room, shower needed a little tlc but on the whole a very nice place.
Continental breakfast - super,
Toby Carvery attached was good - very busy. Food very good.
Staff all very friendly.
Heaton Chapel station was about a 5 min walk - £4.80 return into Manchester Piccadilly so very cheap and only about 8 mins. Lots of trains either way.
On the whole a great get away.

Only negative I would say is the access to the rooms - no list and very steep stairs - especially to the 2nd floor.
