“Average-below average”
Reviewed May 9, 2012

Used to be average-good but on our last visit slipping more to below average-just average, more choice of meats than they used to have and all meats were nice, but Yorkshire puddings were soggy under done and crackling was not edible - selection of veg and potatoes all acceptable but have had better here.
Service was not as good as it used to be even some old faces still working here but they seem to have lost the passion for the job- seem to need some motivation as they all used to be much more friendly.
overall still worth the £5.95 for a speedy lunch.

“Very happy stay”
Reviewed March 26, 2012

I stayed 3 nights in this hotel/inn in March. I was already aware that check-in is at the bar in the main lounge so this didn't phase me.

The manager allowed us to check in an hour early because the room was ready which was a plus for us and we came down and sampled the carvery immediately. Highly recommended.

The room was a twin at the front of the building which was spacious and bright. There are tea and coffee making facilities in the room. The en-suite was large and clean and the water pressure in the shower was good.

I'm a light sleeper but can honestly say we had no issue with noise - didn't hear a thing during the night. Obviously there was the usual door banging early in the morning as other guests went to breakfast but that can't be helped.

Overall, I highly recommend the Rudyard.

“Dirty in need of cleaning and renovation”
Reviewed November 23, 2010

Decided to call in for a roast/carvery. First port of call, toilets. In need of renovation and a clean. Lady (loose term) before me exited toilet with child without washing hands! Shown to our seats..........many months/years of stains. Upon moving along I was advised I couldnt sit there as it was wet and awaiting for it to dry. Wet from what I wonder!!!
We joined the carvery queue, and unfortunately the 'lady' in front of us was the one I encountered in the loos! Mmmm nice. Upon looking around whilst in this queue, the condiment/gravy/cutlery table resembled a war zone rather than a restaraunt. Desperatly in need of a wipe down. Needless to say exit two possible diners. We did excuse ourselves to staff, but unlike a good restaraunt, they couldnt care less. Never again.
