Very impressed with Premier Inn. Was a good nights stay with an excellent breakfast linked with TGI Friday. Hotel was clean and friendly with free parking. Choice of pillow firmness and also had a additional bed for daughter which was also very comfy.

I have never visited a hotel with such friendly staff. They catered to our every need, even at 4 in the morning. Check in was quick and easy and we were informed of all the services available. Such a fabulous stay

We have just spent 3 nights on our third visit here. It is a perfectly satisfactory hotel, good location and friendly staff. Handy for the motorway, plenty of car parking spaces and reasonably secure. Also close to a large Tesco and petrol station with a M&S Food store just down the road. It is located on a main feeder road to the city centre so has lots of ticks in the boxes. It was surprisingly quiet with no significant noise from other guests - thank you!

A Premier Inn has the same basic room (they build them by bolting small 'portacabins' together and then put a brick wall round them - I watched one being built outside of my office in Stevenage!). So there is plenty of space, bathroom, TV, desk and tea making facilities. There was a surprisingly pleasant view from my room with some trees and grass visible. Breakfast is available at extra cost (£8.75 for a full breakfast) next door, although I understand that Costa in Tesco is a viable alternative if one can be bothered to go there.

There were one or two things that were niggles - the internet is charged at £3 a night after the first half hour for free. This is a throwback from the past - even in the USA internet now seems to be a free service. The coffee/ tea provided was comprehensive on the first day, but by day 2 it was half gone and day 3 it was all gone. The cleaner had no excuse for not replenishing the stocks as when we left I noticed that the trolley was heaving with tea and coffee. Sorry, but I was less generous with the cleaner's tip than usual as a consequence. If I really drill down to the minor nit picking - the paintwork on the walls in the bathroom is starting to look in need of attention and slightly grubby, the fan makes a loud noise yet does not quickly clear the steam - so there is some evidence of discoloured drips on the wall above the sink. ... but it is still overall a smart and comfortable room - just small signs of standards slipping.

Room Tip: A room on the second floor on the West side is the best one that we have used so far.

A great stop over. We had two rooms and it couldn't have been easier. The breakfast was good inTGI Fridays but the evening meal was poor, service not great and food choice was limited (ran out of pizza at 6pm on a Sat). as for Premier Inn fantastic!

I stayed at this hotel over the bank holiday weekend .The hotel, staff, room was superb . location fantastic,,, the hotel gets 5/5 ...
breakfast was to be honest rubbish staff were lovely . food very poor,,, normally its a self service breakfast , you can eat what you like ..but here they served you your breakfast ..1/5 for me ..
I will stay at this hotel again , but I wont be having breakfast. Cheap and a waste of money..

Stayed there again to attend an event locally and had a pleasant stay. There was no view from the room, but that didn't matter at all. The window opened, the heating worked, the bathroom was clean and the heated towel rail was helpful. The bed was comfortable and we had a good night's sleep, with no noise from inside or outside the hotel. The reception staff were very friendly and genuinely welcoming. There is plenty of parking and it is a short stroll to the train station and the Longfield Suite. We won't hesitate to return for other events.
