Just come back from the best party my 9 year old son has ever had!!!! We had the Laser Arena for 6 children and 2 adults and it was brilliant. Mike, our 'team leader', was great with our party and really good with the kids. The venue had tons of space and was well set out with plenty of places to hide. I would recommend this to both boys and girls (my 11year old Daughter loved it) and hope to book again next year. Great idea with the party room as we had time to cool down before going home. Thanks again and great value for money

Thanks for your review of your Laser Tag party.

Mike will be pleased to get a mention, I hope the players were not too hot in the camo overalls we now issue, but due to the slight mess made by the new Low - Impact paintballing (for ten years plus) which is sometimes played in the same arena, we feel they are now necessary.

Lots of fun to be had. Staff were excellent, Abbo in particular stood out, couldn't have been more helpful. Arena was great, loads of obstacles and scenery to get used to. Games were inventive and encouraged tactics beyond pray-and-spray. Safety rules rigorously adhered to, it was clearly not just going through the motions for these people: they want a safe fun environment. Wish we could have stayed longer! Some of us will probably be back semi-regularly now we realise how close it is.

Great place to play paintball been 3week in a row now.

Pros.
STAFF. (Martin, abbo, ,wayne, rick) are all super helpfull full of laughs and helpfull at all times.
ARENA. indoor site with loads of bunkers lots of combat situations develop easy and flow nicely, bit slippy but adds to the fun.
GAMES. Various games are played from team deathmatch to sabotage to vip all great fun and never repetitive. Have been in with small groups and big groups and the right games are always selected for the group size.
EQUIPMENT. Use my own mask gloves etc so no complaints there but all equipment looks clean and well presented. Guns are tippmann 98customs which are regassed regularly and have had no problems with any guns.
FACILITIES. Lockers are a little small but more than big enough to fit my coat, hoodie, wallet and phone. Refreshments are well priced and other rental equipment i.e shields, upgraded goggles are well priced. Paintballs are also well priced at a average £8 a tube they around this at most other sites.

cons.
None

If you have any issues with this paintball site the issue is got to be you as a large percentage of the people I play with love this site and asy they will return. I have been over ten times and will continue to go many more.
great site great days fun.

The venue:
Pos: Indoors. You wont get muddy. close to Manchester, on site parking, drinks and snacks available and fairly priced.

Neg: The arena where we played was smaller than i had anticipated, dont expect a sprawling warehouse, you can see the opposition at the start of the game. The arena consisted of one long room with two adjacent rooms and an 'alley way' . The lighting was a bit poor, given that its an indoor arena I think it could do with some imaginative lighting, there were simple halogen tubes stuck to the ceiling and some blue light in the alley way. Cold! there were no space heaters so although its indoors it was too cold (end of Feb). The lockers (available for a refundable deposit of £2) are small, sufficient for wallets and personal items.

The staff
Pos: Good, friendly, clear instructions at the start and during the games.

Neg: Only one marshal per game standing at the back of the room (but to be fair he was watching the game and not wondering off)

The games
Pos: good variety of games, fun and different from other places I've been to

Neg: All the games were 're-spawns' which means when you get shot, you can re-join the game from your end of the arena, this makes the games good fun but you do end up using/buying a lot more paint balls - we didnt ask the games to be changed to non-re-spawns.

The Equipment
Pos: Functioning, clean, dry and not torn overalls, that also had padded neck protectors. Biker style gloves were are available. I didnt see the marshal being called out for a malfunctioning gun at any point. Helmets/goggles were clean and not broken.
Neg: The gloves were moist and a little bit smelly - if you have hygiene issues, take your own gloves or take a pair of surgical ones to wear under your gloves.

Thank you for your review.

We appreciate all feedback and will be looking into some of your suggestions further. It would help me to do this if I knew on which date and what group name you were booked under. It states during your review end of Feb, but then at the end states you visited in March.

Firstly upon reading the positive comments in the review I was surprised to see you rated us as average as the positives seem to out way the negatives significantly!

I am pleased that you thought our staff were "Good, friendly, and that you got clear instructions throughout".

I am concerned the arena was smaller than you anticipated and that the lighting was not as you expected. We currently have the largest single indoor game zone in the UK and we pride ourselves on our honest approach to sales and marketing. What you see is definitely what you get. All our photos on the website are accurate and we publish photos of every session on our facebook page.

Did you take an active role in the booking process, or did someone book on your behalf?

Most people describe our arena as "Massive!"

Yes you can see the opposition at the start of the games, but it is 100% impossible to shoot them! We see this as a positive point and would not change this. The visibility and layout of our arena is what enables us to provide high intense action but also keep things 100% safe from a marshaling point of view. The halogen tubes "stuck to the ceiling", are actually IP56 rated units and are the only fittings we have found which will take the constant onslaught of this environment.

Did you take part in the games or were you a spectator?

I only ask this because you suggested the cold temperature as a negative thing. We deliberately keep wind blowing through the place. This is why our paintball masks steam up significantly less than at all other indoor paintball venues in the country. 99% of players get very warm taking on this kind of activity, which is why our Marshall's try to convince players to wear only one layer under their overalls.

Our marshals take action shots during the session, all uploaded on facebook, you can see from these that they do not always stand at the back throughout the games. On certain games this is the best vantage point to gain the optimum view of the arena. We are constantly experimenting with marshaling styles to ensure we keep things 100% safe and as fun as possible.

We have lots of games. The marshals on the day choose the games according to customer feedback and playing style i.e if people are cheating a lot and seem to just want to blast each other, elimination games are pointless. I am disappointed that you didn't ask to play some non-re-spawn games as this may have improved your experience. I am sorry if we didn't ask if you wanted to play any elimination games, however if everybody is "having a ball" the marshals sometimes will just go with the flow.

In the future we will ensure to ask every group if they would like to play a variety of respawn and elimination games, however our recent poll of facebook suggests the majority of our customers would like to play respawn only games.

I agree, the gloves are not great. They are paintball specific and designed for protection. They are hygienic and washed with every use at 40 degrees with strong industrial detergent, however if dried 100% they become hard and uncomfortable, we dry them to cupboard dry. The smell is the leather as it does not react well to conventional cleaning. New gloves are available to purchase. We are the only paintball site in the North West which supply gloves free of charge!
