I read some of the other reviews of this excellent tearooms prior to writing my own. There are several negative reviews. There are three things I have to say about those reviews. First they are falsified and the reviewer has never been to Leckenby's. My second response is that if they've actually visited they're blatantly lying about their experience. The third thing that could be happening is that they've been written by that strange breed who for perverse reasons known only to themselves think they're clever in finding fault with any restaurant. You'd really have to go to a high level of establishment to have a better experience than you get at Leckenby's. If the place was as bad as people make it out to be I wonder why on Saturdays you have to queue to get a table. We've been going here for a long time and we see other regular customers. If you provide a bad experience you wouldn't get the many regular customers that patronise Leckenby's. I most certainly wouldn't have gone back a second time if my experience had been bad. The maagement team and staff react appropriately to customers. Customers are treated with respect and there's an honest friendliness from the entire team if customers like that style of engagement. The menu is changed from time to time so doesn't become boring. The food is of a very high standard and cooked fresh to order. But, if you really want to rate anywhere then you need to look at the attention paid to detail. Great attention to detail is paid at Leckenby's. If you're going to write a review of this place, or anywhere else, at least be honest. If you've a genuine complaint then bring it to the attention of any member of their extremely pleasant staff or one of the obliging managers. If there's a problem give them the opportunity to solve it. Don't come on here and make an anonymous complaint, unless of course you're a snide coward.
