Description: This well known 17th century Inn underwent an extensive refurbishment throughout the whole of the building in summer 2009, whilst trying to maintain its traditional feel and character. We aim to offer fine food and wine along with excellent service in the relaxed atmosphere of our dining room as well as a private dining function room. All meals will be prepared to the exacting standards of the highly experienced team of chefs using the best quality fresh and wherever possible local produce. You will receive a warm welcome in our relaxed bar area where you can enjoy our selection of bar snacks and a choice from our main menu in the bar, and the main menu in the restaurant at lunch time and evening.

“Lovely fresh good old pub grub and fantastic views!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 8, 2013

You would never just stumble on this place, unless you were walking in the hills. It is within 2 mins from the main road near fairfield hospital in Bury you feel like your in the countryside.Ideal when you don't want to travel far, eat some lovely food and deserts (only ate in the bar) sit by the roaring fires throughout the pub\resturant. The staff are very nice and helpful and the atmosphere is chilled and cosy. Once the weather picks up you can sit outside taking in the lovely views. The Church is is worth a visit. We intend to book in the resturant in the near future and sample more of the menu on offer. You will not be disappointed!

“Nice atmosphere, Good Food.”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 31, 2013 via mobile

A country style pub with restaurant attached. I have eaten here several times from the bar menu and the restaurant both menus have a good selection of cuisine. The establishment is set well off the main road with ample parking in a rural setting. Plenty of walks if you want to stretch your legs after eating with good views. Prices are standard, good quality, value for money worth a visit. Consider booking if you want to use the restaurant.

“Warm and friendly, unpretentious.”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 26, 2013 via mobile

A lovely homely pub lunch. Good portion sizes. Very friendly staff. Nice log fire burning. Quick service even though we weren't in a hurry and were prepared to wait. Nicely situated. Would be lovely in summer. Excellent views. Going again.
