Things probably weren't helped by staying here on one of the hottest days in the year, but to be showed into a room that was the temperature of a blast furnace and seeing that the term double room meant that it was just about possible to get a double bed in the room without space to get around the bed. It was a very very cramped room, tatty and in need of maintenance. I waited 3 times at the reception desk for more than 10 minutes with no one around. I stay at many hotels throughout the year and this will be on my list of "to avoid".

we stopped for one night on way back from Cornwall & what a pleasure it was.we felt at home as soon as we arrived & that is always a good sign.
Chris just happened to be in the car park when we arrived,& kindly helped us to park up & get settled.
Flo on reception was just a happy smiling face & could not do enough for us,even carrying our case up to the top floor(strong as a ox)ha-ha
The bar is cosy the room was cosy & the breakfast was a treat, just a great place to stay.
Thank-you Jon & Chris for our present on leaving,it is nice to know there are kind people still left in a very hard business, thank-you

Room Tip: we where in room 201 on the top floor(two flights of stairs to negotiate)-view was over the rear of...

A Group of 5 couples stayed over the late May Bank Holiday weekend at this hotel, service very good and friendly, some rooms are quirky in old part of building along more modern ones added at later date. Very clean, comfortable. Restaurant very popular for meals with local people and those visiting the area, recommended to book, Food is extremely good and plentiful. very pleasant bar areas to sit and chat with family and friends.
Run for many years by owners Jon & Chris Lear, recommend.

Room Tip: Old Bedrooms at front have character, overlooking the main street. Not too noisy, very little traffi...

I have spent several nights in this hotel and would happily return again.
I stayed here whilst on business. The rooms are clean and tidy, in an antique / olde worlde style.
Bathrooms are functional and tidy. As an over night room it is more than acceptable and the beds have all been very comfortable.
The Restaurant. This needs a special mention. The food is excellent! Nothing else needs to be said really, the food is superb.
It was also evident that many of the locals use the Hotel Bar which gives a nice atmosphere and adds to the ambience. The selection of Ale's is very good.
I would recommend this as a great place to stay if you are in the Malvern area.

Room Tip: I have not had a bad room yet.

my friend and i travelled to upton for a friends wedding. When we arrived we were greeted by a lovely receptionist who efficiently and quickly had us in our twin room, even with me stopping briefly to pet the resident cat! the room was comfortable with a modern flat screen tv mounted on the wall and the bathroom was larger than average. The hotel itself had a wonderful antique feel to it and a lovely lounge/bar area. Breakfast was also lovely and cooked to order, which is so much better than the usual buffet affair. Overall if i were to visit upton again, i would stay here. Great location and staff and good value for money.

Having booked well in advance we arrived and found a space in the hotel car park quite easily. We were check in by the pleasant and efficient girl on reception.

The room on the first floor was pleasant if rather small with ageing furniture. There was an armchair in the room which it was impossible to position anywhere without being in the way. The bathroom was of an excellent standard except for a very poor electric shower. Walls were very thin and it was quite easy to hear conversation in the adjoining room on either side. There was no hair dryer in the room.

The bar was very comfortable and nicely decorated and set out and prices were reasonable for a hotel. £6.45 for a pint of Stella and a pint of excellent cask Amber ale.

Apart from the excellent breakfast we didn't eat in the hotel. They have an extensive menu but it's rather on the expensive side.

Wouldn't hesitate to stay again if in the area.
