“Basic and clean”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed September 4, 2013

I stayed in this hotel several times on business trips. The rooms are basic but clean. There is no minibar. The food in the restaurant is ok and at a fair price. Internet access has to be paid extra, which is is a pitty. The last time I was there, you could get free access if you took a meal in their restaurant, which is an improvement already. There is a big car park.
The hotel is not big luxury, but has everything for a night sleep and a meal.

Stayed overnight 29th prior to meeting in the morning. Friendly and swift reception check in. Recognition of Platinum Elite status with free wi fi and comp drink. Newish property spotlessly clean all the way through. Functional room with really nice sheets and choice of firm or soft pillows. Ate in restaurant and food was superb. Room rate very good value with the bonus of inclusive breakfast.

The hotel was as expected. My husband, son and I stayed for 3 nights. The room was clean and comfortable, well equipped with TV, hair drier, desk etc. Good shower with plenty of room in the bathroom. Excellent value for money as breakfast was included. We paid £45 per night so £15 each for B&B This would be hard to beat. All the staff were helpful and while the breakfast area was small if you arrived before 08:30 there was always room even when the hotel was full. Good selection at breakfast and you could have as much as you wanted. Plenty of parking too. The bar and restaurant were expensive but there were other places to eat in the area if you wanted an alternative. We ate at the Beefeater not far away one evening which was fine. The only down side was the location - off the main route and in an area that seemed a little run down although the hotel parking was secure and they seem to be regenerating the area as the flats opposite were newly built.

Stayed two nights whilst visiting friends in the area and was very surprised at how good it was for the price we paid.
Staff were friendly and helpful, the bedroom and bathroom were clean and bedding and towels good quality although lack of proper wardrobe and shelf space would have made a long stay difficult but I don't suppose that's what an "Express" is meant to cover.
I've had better quality breakfasts but it was perfectly adequate - cereals, juice, coffee/tea, toast, bacon, sausage, scrambled egg, beans but I don't think that this changes from day to day.
Good value for money.

We stayed in this hotel prior to a day out at Cadbury’s World we were a party of 2 adults & 2 children.

Check was easy, quick, friendly and simple.

Our room consisted of a double bed and sofa bed made into a double which was fine, though it left absolutely no floor space to move around other than the entrance area into the room.

The bathroom had shower with soap/shampoo/body wash dispenser & plenty of hot water, nice large fluffy towels all quiet basic but did the job.

We decided not to dine in the hotel and took the short walk into the town to a Lloyds bar that the receptionist had recommend to us, more purse friendly that the hotel restaurant prices. The complimentary breakfast had a limited choice but the basics were on offer, sausage, bacon, baked beans, scrambled egg & toast, along with fruit, yoghurts & pastry’s.

Plenty of car park spaces, 5-10minute walk into the town & simple to find with a sat nav, 15 minutes from Cadburys World.

Would stay here again if cheap & cheerful was our requirement, though if traveling with children I would consider the nearby premier inn as in my experience the family rooms are a much better size.

Very conveniently placed hotel for the centre of Redditch and the train station (only a few minutes walk)with a direct line (half an hour trip) into Birmingham New Street. The hotel is exceptionally clean and even at the end of the day still looked and smelt clean!! The staff both on reception and in the dining room were helpful, friendly and very pleasant.

As mentioned in other reviews the dining area is small, so breakfast can be somewhat busy with people waiting for tables. The hotel tried to avoid a 'clog up' one morning by advising visitors via notices in the lifts that the hotel was full and to avoid breakfast if possible between 9.30 and 10.30am - the result was most of the visitors got up for breakfast between 7.30am and 8am! The food is good though, choice of cereals, fruit juices, hot drinks, pastries, toast and 4 cooked items. I would recommend this hotel for value for money, location, cleanliness and the staff

Comfortable room, except no power point near bed so unable to charge phone whilst using it as an alarm clock! Good in house restaurant. Why do I have to write 200 characters when what I have said above says it all?
