“Friendly, welcoming staff”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed December 30, 2012 via mobile

We stayed here for two nights at the end of December for a wedding, and had a wonderful time. The room was spotless and very comfortable, and the children were really excited to find candy canes tucked into their pillows. All the staff, from reception, leisure club, bar staff and waiting staff were so friendly and welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. In particular the waitresses we had at our table for the meal at the wedding reception were really lovely with the children.

This is a lovely Independant hotel that differentiates itself with service. Chelsea, Shy, Lisa and Bailey stood out. The rooms are fine and the beds comfortable. House keeing needs improving but didn't take shine off our 3 day stay. The pool area is excellent and the pool water clean and very warm. The restaurants are great and well priced. Loads of variety. Staff can't do enough for you. We were a party of 15 so were given our own private dining area. Brilant.we had a fantastic high tea in one of the lounges at 6pounds per person. Breakfast was terrific and one of the only hotels that brings you toast!
We normally stay at The Forest of Arden when in Birmingham because they allow Teso vouchers. If the Abbey allow tesco vouchers I think we may have found ourselves a new place to stay.
overall, all of us were pleased with our stay. Well done The Abbey.

Dear steve d,

Thank you so much for your “highly recommended” review following your stay at the Abbey Hotel, Golf & Spa.

We are delighted you found our beds comfortable, pool area excellent and to hear you found our restaurants great and well priced. I cannot wait to pass these comments to our team here, with special mention being given to Chelsea, Shae, Lisa and Bailey. Also I’m pleased you enjoyed our Afternoon Tea, we offer this throughout the year for our guests and really is a delicious treat.

Also you will be pleased to hear that we do actually accept Tesco Vouchers. We are part of a hotel consortium called Classic British Hotels. Tesco clubcard vouchers can be exchanged for Classic British Hotels tokens. To take advantage of this you do need to make your reservation through Classic British Hotels and they will then make the reservation at our hotel for you.

Thank you so much again for your review and we look forward to welcoming you back again in the further.

Kindest regards,
John

10 of us came to this hotel for their twixmas break two days between Christmas and new year.the hotel was not surprisingly busy as the offer was a very good one I terms of price. The hotel is smart, newly furnished and the rooms although not very bug are well planned to use the space to the maximum and the bathrooms and rooms are spotless. The facilities such as gym and swimming pool a very well equipped and not busy considering the number of guests staying.

We stayed on a dinner need and breakfast basis for. 2 nights and therefore had chance to experience the restaurant several times, the food was excellent on every occasion, breakfast fresh, well cooked and contains everything you would want form a good hotel cooked breakfast. The evening meal was exceptional for the price, plenty of choice and everything was well presented and very well cooked. Wo ever the chef is he should be commended for producing quality restaurants food on such a large scale. We will definitely come back in the summer to try out the golf breaks

Redditch is a relatively less visited part of the UK, but it is home to my company's HQ. Having stayed in a few terrible hotels in redditch. finding the abbey court hotel was a pleasant surprise. The rooms are large and well maintained, the staff at the bars and restaurants are very polite and helpful, and there are numerous business facilities including a conference centre, presentation rooms and fine dining facilities. Also, try the mushroom soup at the restaurant - it's insane!

Last weekend we stayed at the Abbey Hotel again and again the stay was as pleasurable as ever, the Hotel reception staff greeted us with happy smiling faces, we checked in and were in our room within 10 minutes. The room was very clean, the large bed was comfortable. We unpacked and went up to the Tawneys bar for a drink and a bite to eat, we love going up there in an afternoon on pleasant days to watch the golfers coming down to their final hole.
The menu in Tawneys caters for all tastes, if you just want a snack or a main meal they will serve you with a smile.
We had another trip into Birmingham to the Xmas market our 4th visiting 6 years.
Family friendly Hotel with great facalities, The whole team at the Abbey work very well together and I know we will be visiting there early in the New Year. We would recommend The Abbey to young and old alike.

Stayed here by chance and what a great weekend it was, the hotel facilities were fantastic, and the bar staff most notably lewis was very well spoken and polite. Me and my girlfriend made full use of the bed which I have to say was excellent. would recommend this hotel to anyone.

Just returned from yet another great weekend at the Abbey. We were there for our final golf event of the year and to celebrate at the Christmas party. The course had been closed prior to us arriving but thankfully it was open on the Saturday althought it was very wet and boggy on the course but we were really grateful that it was open and there is very little they can do about the weather. The Christmas party was another brilliant evening where everyone had a fun packed night. Several of the Ladies used the Spa and leisure facilities during the weekend and had an enjoyable time. Excellent food and all the staff should be congratulated for helping make this another brilliant weekend. See you next year.
I read that someone moaned about the rooms being to hot! It is December and you can always open a window and turn the radiator down, chill out and give the Abbey the credit it deserves.
