My wife and I brought our daughter for freshman orientation at IUP and decided a chain motel wasn't interesting, so we decided to take a chance on the Pines B&B. Turned out to be a great choice for us. First off the property itself is gorgeous, with a large outdoor pool and gazebo and an indoor (sunroom) hot tub. There are only 3 or 4 guest rooms, and we opted for one with a shared bath but king-size bed (very comfortable), rather than a smaller bed but private bath. As luck would have it we were the only guests during our stay so we shared the bathroom with no one.
The room had a nice sized TV and wireless internet, . The house was filled with family pictures , knick-knacks and interesting furniture, but was incredibly clean and dust free.
The owners, who live in the separate, downstairs quarters are sweethearts. They were around enough to be helpful in every regard, but never intrusive, and let us be to enjoy the property. They also were wine and cheese in the early evening.
And then there were the breakfasts. Custom made, (chef's choice - each morning was a surprise) using many ingredients grown onsite. Creative and delicious.
Location is a very short hop outside of the town of Indiana, so completely convenient if you have business at the University or otherwise.
This proved to be a totally enjoyable stay and we plan to stay there again when we visit our daughter (we are a 5-hour drive away).
