Booked at short notice and the staff could not have been more attentive. Food in the 'Angry Chef' excellent and the atmosphere very congenial. The room was clean, well appointed and comfy with a couple of quirky bits such as a sloped floor and hidden pictures. A wonderful view of the river from bedroom 'Cottage 2'. Overall great value for money. Thank you for a great night.

We arrived at 10 PM after the kitchen had closed (but not the bar). When we asked the owner where we go close by for a quick bite to eat he offered to make us sandwiches. He went to the back and made them himself. They were fantastic as was the rest of our stay at the Mug House.
Our room, the Rose room, was large with a mini fridge and a good (free) WIFI connection. Our windows overlooked the river. The noise from the bar directly below was minimal and completely quiet before midnight.
The pub was the best part of the inn. The description does not do it justice. Not too crowded, not too empty, not too small, not too large, just right. The selection of ales and ciders was outstanding.
We ate breakfast there every morning and were served promptly. The selection was good, from yogurt and cereal to salmon and eggs. All of the hot food was cooked to order and served quickly. We had dinner at the restaurant one night. Same top notch service and quality of food as we had already come to expect from the Mug House.
The location is right in the middle of everything, near the walking path, the river, shops, and railway station.
Even though the location, room, and food were nice the best part of the stay were the staff. They were always cheerful and helpful. To me, that is the difference between staying at a soulless hotel with cookie cutter rooms and a local one-of-a-kind Inn with staff to make your stay memorable.

A proper pub catering for everyone, but with sensible limits on times for children. Well behaved dogs welcomed.

Week end Barbeque in courtyard excellent value for money. Sunday Lunch too. Several great real beers especially HPA.

Wonderful river quayside location.

I have never stayed here so cannot comment n the bedrooms, but if the landlord puts as much care into them as the rest of the place you will not be disappointed.

wanted to treat hubby to a night away in Bewdley. Been to west midland safari park which is fantastic and had a free return visit so wanted somewhere close. Also wanted to spend a few hours on the local steam train but when we arrived at Mug House the sun was shining so as so rare this year sat outside the Inn which is on the river watching the world go but with a few beers. Then spent pleasant hour walking along the riverfront. We had Rose room which was at the front overlooking the river...too many knick knacks for my liking(worried about breaking something) but was spacious and clean. We ate at there restaurant and the food was really good and for a tuesday night was nearly full. Lots of locals in the bar which is a very good sigh.
Breakfast was superb...locally sourced produce..home made yogurt. Set us up for a day round safari park(in the rain!!!)
Highly recommend mainly for the location, friendly staff and fantastic food

Superb spot in delightful Bewdley, right on the river frontage. We called in for Lunch on a very rainy day. Very comfortable and welcoming and a big bonus was that although it was raining it was quite warm and their outside seating area is under cover and quite pretty with a small fish pond. We only wanted only a snack and all 4 of us chose either a cheese and onion or cheese and pickle sandwich. It turned out not to be just a snack but great wedges of crusty brown bread full to overflowing with a really good sharp cheese, home made crisps on the side and a really tasty chopped, well dressed salad. None of us wanted our dinner until 8.00 that night. Was also good friendly service and and an amiable atmosphere well done the Mug house.

We stayed here while celebrating good friends wedding nearby. They have a small number of rooms, we were in Daffodil which is above the pub and a nice spacious room with plenty of character and lots of homely touches. For our taste its perhaps time to update the decor, bedding and curtains but if you like country kitsch it may be just for you.
Our friends took up the other rooms in the inn and all gave good reports of their rooms over breakfast with varying amusement levels on how they coped with features (sloping floors etc) after many glasses of bubbly. From their reports the Rose Room seemed to be the most appealing, with a four poster bed.
The breakfast was excellent, with freshly cooked full English, smoked salmon and scrambled eggs etc, fresh croissants, thickly cut toast, quality yoghurts, etc all with excellent service. Bewdley is a lovely spot for a weekend away and the Mug House is right on the river front just perfect to enjoy the setting, watch the rowing club setting out, enjoy a meal or potter round the quaint shops.

Maybe not the most glamorous or modern accommodation but cosy and relaxed, I'd happily stay there again.
