We had to stay at this hotel for one night as my Uncle got married there and had the evening ceremony there too so was too far away from home to leave at the end of the night.

I booked this hotel a few months in advance, it made me really angry. To be able to book the hotel room you have to dial a number which goes out to a call center (which seemed to be in a foreign country) I couldn't find a local number to use which seemed ridiculous. The hotel was very unorganised and messed us around ALOT they promised to call back and never did etc. It took ages to book and really put us off. In the end I booked....checked my bank account that evening and the money hadn't gone out, called the hotel the next day and they had problems at their end taking payment but managed it in the end...this was a bit worrying to tell you the least.

Anyway the hotel seemed pretty standard, the wedding breakfast area was small but fine, the food was average, drinks were reasonably priced. Check in was quite late if I remember so we couldn't go to our rooms which made it awkward as we were there for the wedding.

We had the evening part of the wedding in the under part of the hotel (like a basement). This was very small, and a really strange arrangement, everyone was seated in different areas sectioned off so we couldn't socialise.

We didn't get a kettle in our room so had to call and request one, they were pretty fast at providing it which was good.

Breakfast in the morning was lovely, this was the best part, there was a wide selection of pastries, there were yoghurts, cereals and a menu for cooked breakfast to order, juices etc, really nice, very surprised!

WE LEFT A SUIT JACKET IN THE WARDROBE on departure and called the next day when we realised and remembered we had accidently left it, the lady who answered the phone wasn't very helpful at all and just said sorry nothing has been reported to lost property and left it there, so this isn't great.

Overall I wouldnt have stayed here out of choice but it is ok for a general hotel stay.

Room Tip: We booked a double room but had two single beds made up together, maybe ask before you book if this...

I am really sorry that there were aspects of your stay , and indeed the process involved in doing so, were not as seamless as it could and should have been, especially on such a special occasion, and I will review the process of lost property to ensure that this aspect too, is also a co- ordinated operation.
I am glasd howevert hat you enjoyed our New Breakfast Operation and it made amends , in some small way, for the points above.
I do hope that we have the opportunity to welcome you again to the Hotel in the near future.

Booked using Tesco vouchers for a weekend break and expected the usual basic hotel and rooms but was very pleasantly suprised. Set just outside Kidderminster surrounded by woodlands. The rooms were excellent, clean, cosy, comfortable and warm. The staff were friendly and helpful. It was great to be served a full english breakfast rather than fetching from a buffet. We ate in the dining room on our second evening and found the prices reasonable and the food exellent. Our only complaint was the Wifi was only available in the bar area. Our room overlooked the fountain at the front of the hotel and we didn't hear anything from the wedding which was being held in the function room. It was also great not to hear lots of people returning to their rooms or leaving early the following day. A relaxed weekend was enjoyed by us and we would visit again hopefully in the summer to see wander around the gardens.

stayed here last year sometime but never got round to reviewing it.
me and my boyfriend aged 19 were going to the west midlands safari park and wanted somewhere close by to stay, and we got a great deal on this hotel and thought why not.
we did get lost round the little streets but that was down to my map reading.

when we arrived (finally) i thought wow this is waaay to posh for me and felt a little uncomfortable, However the staff were very friendly and made us feel very welcome.
theres not alot to do in the little town of bewdley but its a lovely place to go and relax.

The breakfast in the morning was when i knew it was too posh for me becasue the toast came out in a rack haha but overall the place was really lovely and i would go back there again.

Thankyou for your feedback from your recent stay. I am delighted that the friendliness of all the staff put you at ease and that you were then able to enjoy your stay that much more.
As you noted , the Safari Park is located just opposite the grounds of the Hotel, which makes the Hotel an ideal base for visiting the park.

Bewdley town is much more lively from Springtime onwards , so maybe a return visit is on the cards, so look forward to welcoming you back soon.

We stayed in the Victorian part of the Hotel with some beautiful original features ( there is also a newer part of the hotel ) It was a lovely quiet room up a flight of stairs ( no lift ). We were offered help with our luggage but it was no problem for us. The room and bathroom were clean and the shower ( over bath ) was good.
We ate breakfast and dinner - both excellent. Breakfast is a cold buffet and orders taken for the hot food which was a bonus. The evening meal was a good choice within a set menu at £22 for a 3 course meal, the brasserie menu was not available due to a new menu being sorted.
We made use of the Swimming pool etc which is just a short walk across one of the car parks ( there is plenty of free parking space ).
Throughout our stay the staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful.

Delighted to read that you enjoyed the original features of the Victorian House - they are not everyone's taste , but the sheer size of the grand rooms, old firepalces and stained glass windows are a pleasure to see.

Thank you.

Stayed for two nights between Christmas & New Year for a relaxing break.
Very nice hotel, with ample free parking. Public areas and bedroom clean & well decorated.
Staff all very friendly & helpful. Food excellent.

Our only critisism is that unfortunately the room we were allocated was near reception and the
function room. Noise from the functions ment it was not worth trying to sleep until past 1am. There was also noise into the early hours from the adjacent corridor fire doors & the late night taxis picking up the revellers from the front of the hotel.

We would return, but would request rooms distant from the reception & not overlooking
the hotel entrance.

Hotel requested customer feedback and to his credit the manager has responded, apologising for the inapropriate room allocation.

I am very glad that you enjoyed your stay, but we really should have tried to find a more suitably located room especially as you were staying for 2 nights.
Please remember that you do not have to suffer in silence as we would rather you had a fully comfortable stay.

When you are next visiting the area , please do not hesitate to contact me in the first instance.

Despite all of this , thank you for your kind words, and I look forward to hearing from you again , in due course.

Yours Sincerely

John Macaskill.
