Owner description: Join us for the perfect family day out.... Take the 4-mile Drive-Through Safari and come face to face with some of the fastest, tallest and cutest animals around. Stick your tongue out at the majestic giraffes... Feed the cheeky ankole cattle... See the stunning Sumatran tigers... And whistle at a pack of dhole. Have a wander around the Discovery Trail visiting Mark O'Shea's Reptile World, Twilight Cave, Creepy Crawlies, SeaQuarium, Sea lion Theatre and Penguin Cove with its underwater viewing area. Don't miss our small exotic animals in our hands-on animal encounter, the sea lion show, the reptile talks or the penguin feeds. Amble around the African Village. See the cheeky meerkats and pet the African sheep and goats. Keep an eye out for our playful ring-tailed lemurs, small white-fronted brown lemurs, and fluffy red-bellied lemurs in Lemur Woods, the largest walk-through lemur wood in the UK.

“Slow going but good.”

We visited the park on a busy Saturday. The first tip I would give you is to do the Safari drive late on if you visit on a busy day.We did the drive firstly at 10.15am and it took three hours but we did it again at 4.00pm and it only took 45 mins and we got to view the animals better at that time as well. The Safari drive itself is pretty good - some of the animals are enclosed as some reviews suggest but many are not. We had Lions, Rhinos , Zebra and Camels walk right past our car and we had great fun feeding the large antelope through the car window ( animal feed is available at the entrance and is well worth buying a box).Away from the drive the rest of the animal exhibits are pretty good - the lemur walk and meerkat manor are worth a visit and the sea lion show is okay. The amusement rides are so so. Older kids and adults won't be that impressed. - wristbands are the cheapest option as buying tickets is a rip off. The foods not cheap but its about in line for most theme park food with regard to both price and quality. All in all its a good day out for the family and the moneys about right. You also get a free ticket for a return visit which is quite a good deal.

“Enjoyable safari but otherwise lacking...”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed March 29, 2013

We visited the safari park on Good Friday after trying to think of some where to go to entertain the kids, aged 9 and 11. The safari was enjoyable, and the kids liked getting 'up close' to the animals. However, saying that, we expected to see a few more animals out there. We appreciate its been cold, but still... The safari drive took about one hour to complete. The rest of safari park was a little disappointing. It looks quite dated now. The bat enclosure was good, but the rest didn't really stand out. For the overall price of the day, I think there are better alternatives for a family day out. I don't think it offered value for money; entrance fees were approx £53 for two adults & two children, basic food from the pizza outlet (2 burger meals and 2 slices of pizza) cost just under £19. If you then add the money for the rides on top, it makes it an expensive day out. The site itself offers great potential, but it's looking like it needs a bit of a facelift now.

Good point: novelty factor for the safari drive through.

Negative points: poor quality and expensive food outlets, lack of customer service, poor value for money.

No giraffs to feed unlike what it says on there website.tigers were behind a fence along with other animals.it was mainly deers that were alowed to run lose.lacked excitment.the leisure park looked shabby and the food was over priced.we bought fresh donuts which was hard and stale,so not fresh.make sure you carry cash as hardly any shops except card.the discovery zone was uninteresting due to the lack of things to look at.we walked that in a bout 3 minutes.lots of goats to feed but have to pay an expensive price to feed the meer cats, thats if you can find them.rides ok for children but wouldnt call them thril rides for adults.a vip tour of the safari costs around 180 pound.wouldnt bover!we traveld 3hours to get there and left after 3 hours and that was including 3 times driving round the safari.all in all its false advertisment and i wont be coming back even with my free pass.put some money into it get sum giraffs and monkeys and renovate the lesiure park side and maybe we would re consider.

“great afternoon”

The Safari park was brilliant, our 2 nearly 3 year old daughter loved it too! We decided not to go to the rides part as it was really cold the day we went but the safari part was well worth the entry fee.
