“Run down and need of renovation”
Reviewed October 27, 2012

We returned with our 'free return' visit pass. We were hoping for a good day out but it was sadly quite average.
The animals were okay although the tigers looked really sad and they were in caged areas on their own. Some were pacing which was quite sad to see.
We paid 7.99 for our little boy to go on the rides which was quite reasonable.
The theme park is run down and sadly quite outdated. Paint is peeling and age old rides seem to have been revamped with odd paint colour schemes rather than being replaced.
We purchSed some donuts and went into a cafe seating area to eat them as it was bitterly cold and the cafe looked like it needed a good clean.
Changing facilities for little ones are not well signed in the amusement park area, it seems they are in the disabled toilets ( no door signage though).
The safari park is staffed by 'kids' and those with Saturday jobs and we felt that as a comsequence no-ome really cared about quality of experience or service. I doubt we'll visit again soon until this place had been re-vamped.............disappointing.

“Great value”
Reviewed October 25, 2012

A great day out. Safari park was exceptional with good selection of animals. No monkeys though due to disease outbreak some years ago. Theme park expensive but fun (costs extra).

“Wonderful despite the weather”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

I never fail to enjoy visiting this place, the weather can be grotty and I still have fun with my grandchildren who don't care if its raining. I would say it was a little expensive if you did not get the free ticket to go back and visit again for free. Staff always seem polite. Fluffy toys of the animals are expensive but if the money goes towards the animals upkeep that's to be expected.

“Good for children”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

This is the second time we visited the park. The theme park is good for children and has a couple of rides for older children, there are no queues. The zoo was the best getting to see the animals close up and in their natural habitat but only could see a handful on the day we went. The sealion show wasn't very impressive as much of it consisted of the animal trainer talking about why and how they train sealions but overall a great day out especially if you have young children.
