Stayed at the George Hotel with a friend over from Ireland whilst we visited the Severn Valley Railway. We had two nights there with the full works breakfasts and steak dinners and I reckon we spent no more than £175 all in. Great value. The rooms were very clean, comfortable and well equipped and the over bath shower was one of the best I have ever come across , completely controllable. Check in and out quick, friendly and efficient. We appreciated the good range of real ales in the bar considerably cheaper than other pubs in the town. Only one criticism, the room we occupied was facing the main street which was very noisy at night but not much the George could do about that. Would definately stay again and have already recommended to others. The first time I've stayed at a Wetherspoons hotel, if they're all this good it won't be the last.

My first review still stands (which is below), the room wasn't as big, but the same good value and standards as before. The staff even friendlier than our other stay.

A Wetherspoons Lodge (and cheap price to match) inside a historic hotel on a lovely street in the centre of beautiful Bewdley. Carpark round the back and a very small reception area on the side, all the ground floor is given over to the bar apart from the aforementioned reception. Olde Worlde feel (real), thin stairways, short corridors, loads of levels to navigate your way around.

Room was large, had a TV, plenty of space for clothes and all the lights worked as did the shower and toilet. Clean fluffy towels and a good bed. Breakfast is taken in the bar areas and you pay for whatever you wish from the normal menu, so breakfast is as cheap or expansive as you want.

All in all a pleasant place at a super price.

My friend and I shared a twin room here on 10th October while fishing in the area. Bar and restaurant were typically Weatherspoons. Room 204 had plenty of character with original oak beams to the ceiling, leaning floors and crooked walls, yet was well presented and tastefully decorated. All mod cons inc. tea/coffee facilities, t.v. etc. Bathroom was more than ample and the beds were very comfotable. Good value food and drink in the bar and plenty of space in the car park to rear. We paid £36.75 room only for the one night - good value hotel, will return and on the evidence of this visit, would recommend.

Spent a Saturday night at the George while visiting Bewdley. The room was small but very clean with smart décor. The bathroom was even smaller but again very clean and with good fittings, although it only had a shower, no bath. The staff were very welcoming and helpful and the location, right in the centre of Bewdley, very good. However the location proved to be the major downside to our stay as we were woken by the noise and flashing lights of a street cleaner at 6am on the Sunday morning, despite the double glazing. I know this is out of the control of the Hotel, but it would put us off returning. I wonder if it is worth the management speaking to the council to see if cleaning could be delayed to at least 8am on a Sunday?

I wrote the first review on trip advisor for the George a couple of years ago. Returned for a fishing break with a mate recently and was so pleased that I thought i'd review again and give 5/5 on this occasion. Very friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms and pub facilities downstairs excellent for both food and drink. Don't get the impression this is some sort of five star hotel - its not but it is good value, convenient, clean and friendly. What more could you ask for?
