Recently opened in New Brighton,I believe they are part of the Prezzo restaurant chain(next door).Booked in the same way as Prezzo, online but no special offers so we knew it was going to cost a bit more.
Four of us turned up on time on a freezing night, and were seated in the waiting area for about ten minutes,by which time they had turned away 12,yes twelve walk-in customers who had not booked, even though there were many empty tables.
When I asked why this was,the waiter said it was because there were not enough staff to cope!.
There was no restaurant manager co-ordinating customers and seating, waiting on staff had to do this in addition to serving at tables.
Nevertheless, all staff were very pleasant and keen to please and were very good at their jobs..there were just not enough of them.
We ordered four Sol beers, but were told that they had sold out the night before and had not been restocked..this was also true of one of the desserts, teething problems for a new venue but serious management issues;they must have turned away about £400 worth of business..a big failure.
The menu is very good and varied, and our starters and mains were delivered in a reasonable time and were delicious;we were regularly asked if we required anything and the sevice was great.
Apart from previously mentioned above the desserts were fine and we had a jug of Margarita whch finished the meal off nicely.
As mentioned, the bill was a bit pricey at £136.00 for four, with no discounts or offers, and we were very surprised to see most of the staff seated and eating meals when we left at 9.30pm..they obviously made sure that customers were not going to prevent this little perk!..remember they turned people away and obviously decided they had done enough for the evening:they need a manager badly here to keep things in order.
Despite this we did enjoy our visit and the superb food, but Prezzo next door would come in at about £30 less with a discount,so that is where they will lose out.
