We stayed here for a friends wedding and although the staff weren't very welcoming. They were a little more friendlier as one went on. Room was clean and of a good size. Breakfast wasn't amazing but was edible. Staff who handled the wedding in the night were good as gold. We would return

Stayed one night en-route to somewhere else and as we arrived late we decided to use their restaurant. The food was attempting to be fine dining standard and to be honest it was very very close. Breakfast also was excellent.
The room however was very very basic, quite a surprise as when we checked in we were were told we had been upgraded to one of their better rooms. This is a typical hotel where contractors would stay and the condition reflects it. The carpets in the staircase and landings to the room were absolutely filthy. the room was clean but nowhere up to the standard of even an Premier Inn, very dated and basic.
It was however quite cheap for B&B so I guess you get what you pay for.

Stayed for a couple of nights in May. Overall 'very good' I think is fair but it really wouldn't take very much more to make this 'Excellent'.

The staff are friendly and competent, the food of OK quality, the decor likewise is OK. The rooms however seem to be showing their age a little, with sparse furnishings and poor qualities bathrooms. I think with some minor refurbishment and some more modern touches the Marsh Farm would be a super place to stay.

Also, some of the beds were VERY soft and used, again, just some investment needed to bring the hotel back up to it's potential...

Despite some poor reviews regarding The Glasshouse restaurant we decided to give this a go for two nights over the bank holiday. The room was immaculate with a very comfortable bed. The bathroom ceiling was sloped which did cause an issue in the shower and the hot water did take an age to come through but this did not spoil our weekend at all as we do not nit pick. We ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was delicious with lots of choice. The service was excellent and even though there was a large function taking place on the Sunday evening, we were looked after brilliantly by our waiter who was happy to chat too. (when he had a second to spare) breakfast was buffet style with plenty available. Plenty of tea and toast bought to the table with the staff very happy to top up. All in all a great stay!

If you read the other reviews a really consistent theme emerges and I agree with it. Staff who are good and deserve somewhere better. The menu looked laughably ambitious, but surprisingly delivered all it said it would, really well. But you do wonder if the management have been to a good modern restaurant and noticed how things are done these days: a jug of water without having to ask. Condiment sets that don't remind you of a cheap cafe, etc. Bedrooms are old fashioned and just adequate, will stay if company pays but not on my own money!

The car park, location and staff are all good, the restaurant food is of a high quality. My room was upgraded to Standard (glad I didn't experience a sub standard room! Shower in room 26 was very poor - cheap bathroom fittings incapable of delivering hot water in high volume, ventilation fan noisy and loo cistern takes an age to noisily re fill. Decoration is tired, overall - adequate

The hotel is tired: the shower was over the bath and powered by the two taps instead of a single control, bathroom decor similarly average and the bedroom and hall carpets were stained. The adverse comments end there. The breakfast is good with generally quality ingredients (could do with freshly squeezed orange juice rather than concentrate), the bed was very comfortable and the staff were professional, friendly and helpful. The price of a room is competitive, compared to surrounding hotels and you don't pay for parking, but we paid extra for a large double, ended up in the new extension and didn't think the extra was worth the money.

Room Tip: Try to get an upgrade into the Clarendon Suite building.
