“Excellent food - just needs to be busier”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 6, 2012

The Kings Arms has a nice bar in the middle of Melksham. Well kept Wadworth ales and all the usual lagers/wines etc. Popular with the younger crowd at weekends. Food is great - we had the lasagne - homemade with shoestring fries, salad and garlic bread, 6X suet pudding with mash and red cabbage. Both were good value for this town centre bar and nicely presented. Seems a little quiet but word will soon get round!

“Awful don't bother.”
2 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 22, 2012

Went there for Christmas Day was horrendous meals were wrong, cold some of us finished before others even got their food. The desserts had run out by the time we got there! Over £60 per head!
Went again (not by choice) with a group started off with one of the staff parked in the disabled bay - shows total lack of respect or consideration for customers. Food again awful very small portions.

Won't go back despite being given gift voucher by brewery for issue over parking.

“Lovely food, recommended place to eat :)”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed June 21, 2012

We decided to eat at The Kings Arms at 6 O'Clock one evening, after it was recommended to us when we were staying nearby. I was a bit worried at first because it looked like a typical pub (although slightly more upmarket) and I wasn't sure what the food might have in store for us! However, I needn't have worried because it was very nice indeed!

Our food was brought out very quickly and the staff were very pleasant and attentive (although we were one of only three groups there!) We had starters and mains which were all absolutely delicious, so we were pleasantly surprised! All were very well presented and had obviously had effort taken over their preparation. There was plenty of choice on the menu and I would highly recommend The Kings Arms as a relaxed place to eat.

“Meal very poor”
1 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 27, 2012

We previously had a fabulous meal at the Kings Arms so we decided to go again. We booked a table for 15 and pre ordered our food. Everything was set and all were looking forward to the Birthday lunch. How very disappointing! The hotpot was tasteless, there was a competition to find a trace of prawn in the fish pie and the presentation was not good. Bring on the desert, I have never seen a pavlova like it, a cheap meringue with some apple hidden under a huge pile of squirty cream. Considering we had pre booked and pre ordered our food you would expect a meal to enjoy. We also wrote to the Manager expressing our dissappointment but after several weeks we still are waiting for a reply. We will not be going again for a meal until there is a change of Management.
