“Location, comfort, affordable, accessible. Has it all!”

Four good reasons, in ascending order, to stay at the Old Haberdashery. 1) It is steps from central Marlborough, an historical market town with wonderful architecture and fine pubs, and a short drive to Avebury, Stonehenge and Salisbury; 2) the room is spacious, well equipped, quiet and the breakfasts are custom made, generous and delicious; 3) although the facility has an antiquated charm, the price is a bargain compared to the well equiiped advantages (including a small back garden for relaxing at the end to the day); and, 4) the owner, Jane, is a tourist's treasure: she responds to inquiries immediately, is available upon your arrival, is actively concerned with your comfort and needs, and is intelligent and engagingly conversational. The Old Haberdashery is also well kept, clean and has a dedicated garage nearby. What more could a tourist want? Wish there were more like this one!

Ideal location, lovely room with everything you could possibly need. Jane could not have done more to accommodate us, even offering us a lift when our taxi was no where to be seen. I would recommend this rental to anyone.

“An unsung perfect place to stay”

Amazing place to stay, good location, in the heart of Marlborough,a five mins walk from the national express bus station, with a perfect and awesome host Jane, humane, concerned with your well being , makes your stay memorable, never short of what to eat or drink, a sparkling clean and conducive envinronment, well equipped room more than some four stars hotels I had lodged, the first place I see and slept on a heated bed ,just like a setting and description of a house in James Hardly Chase "one bright summer morning", this is not fantasy but real, enjoying my stay with my daughter for her mid term break and will surely be back in July, prefer to stay and go to my daughter's school in Devizes from there. There for the next a week plus. Many awesome experiences to gist with my family and friends when back in Nigeria. Luv uuuuuuu Jane. Best, (better be under rating)than the price paid.

“Mini break luxery”

On arrival I was thinking what a tiny quaint little house but it's like a tardis inside, with the room being much bigger than expected - and so tastefully decorated. Lovely big bed with a single just fitting alongside, breakfast table, dresser and plenty of storage. There's a small shower room that somehow didn't feel cramped because of the clever layout and it's got a very decent size walk in shower.
Tea, coffee, sugar, full size kettle and shortbread biscuits! Yeh, milks in the fridge down stairs but who cares - this is probably the best appointed B&B we've ever stayed in - there's even a hot water bottle provided!
The only downside was that the proprietors job prevents provision of a cooked breakfast but with a choice of cereals, pastry, yoghurt, juice and fruit we didn't feel short changed at all.
If we need to stay in the area again we'll be back here.

Liked best: Thoughtful provision of everything we needed.
Liked least: Creaky floorboards - but hey - what do expect in a 200 year old building?
